I’m
trying to spend more time reading. What better excuse to read than to do a
review on a book. I was given the opportunity to review The Ourter Rims by Clint
Morey. Let me start by saying I like it. I was given the first installment to review and
can’t wait for the rest. I mentioned that I was given the first installment
What is pretty cool about this book is that it’s in installments You get to
read a section at a time. Similar to a series but just a little shorter in
length. I find that part pretty cool.
The story starts out with Matt witnessing the murder of his parents by the Anake tribe. Skip forward to when Matt is an adult and he is now a police Marshall. His newest assignment takes him back to the planet where his parents were murdered. Matt has a justifiable hatred for the Anake tribe but he has to look past that and go only based on the law. There is much more to the story than just Matt's. He also has a wife who has cancer and a teenage daughter who is trying to find her way. The family robot (Roy) is also a big part of the story and is treated like a family member. He is his own character and a funny one as well. While working his normal job, Matt comes across something that just doesn't add up. It is involving Dr. Barkman, the Dr that is supposed to heal his wife from cancer. he good Dr. has a motive of his own. Without giving anything away, it's pretty big and not entirely legal.
Clint has done a great job of developing the characters and the story line is not one that I have read before. It was well written and was refreshing. Over all I recommend that you download this for your kindle right away.
