Svan Signet Review

I was recently lucky enough to receive the Svan Signet, and I have to tell you, it has blown away any other highchair I have EVER used!! There are just so many features that I want to talk to you about, and I just do not know where to start!!

"The Signet Complete High Chair makes mealtime easy and enjoyable for baby and parent alike. Signet seats children up to the table for enjoyable interaction with the rest of the family, turning mealtime into family time! As your child grows, so does your chair – converting every step of the way. The handle on the back makes it easy to move, and the adjustable seat depth, seat height and footrest provide proper ergonomic support for your child. Signet’s solid bentwood quality construction and curves, blend with and home décor and the Signet Chair is durable enough to serve your family for years to come."

Cleaning- It is wood! Wood is easy enough to clean, just wipe it down with a wipe and it is clean. There is a plastic tray on top of the wooden tray to prevent scratches and make it easier to clean. The pads and the straps can both be removed and thrown into the washing machine.

Transporting- Even though it is solid wood, the chair is only about 15 pounds. That makes it really easy to move across the kitchen. It also has felt pads on the bottom which make it easy to pull without scratching the floor, and it glides smoothly.

It Grows with Your Child- It is perfect for ages 6 months to 150lbs!! It you are in a crunch for a chair when company comes it serves that purpose. My son is 10 months old, so he is still using the infant portion but I have pulled him up to the table and removed the tray so he could eat dinner with us. The tray is stored very easily on the back of they chair. My six year old son fits very comfortably in the seat and it is very easy to switch from infant chair to a chair for my older son! You simply adjust a few features, and remove a couple of screws and it is done!

Comfort and Safety- First off, this chair comes with a five point harness. As we all know from car seats, a five point harness is the safest harness you can have for a child. There are very few chairs that offer this feature that I have seen. Ergonomically, this chair is perfect for a growing child. You can easily adjust the foot rest so the child does not have dangly feet while in it. The adjustable seat depth provides a torso and leg support. It is incredibly sturdy because it is wood. I have no fear that the chair will fall over with my little man. Our other highchair scared me on many occasions because it just did not feel sturdy!

What we REALLY think about the Svan Signet Highchair-
I REALLY, REALLY love it, and I think my son does too! In our older chair, he would only sit in it for his meal and immediately want to be taken out. He would not stay in the chair while I cooked or to watch a cartoon, but now he does. He will watch Baby First TV in it, or watch me cook. It really makes my life easier because he is so comfortable. I love that the chair is not huge. When we are not using it, it can be tucked into the corner. It also matches our decor pretty well. I particularly love the FULL panel foot rest. Most highchairs only offer a small little piece of plastic if any foot rest at all. If they do offer one, it certainly is not adjustable like the Svan Signet. I love that I can rest easily because of the safety of the wooden construction and large base area. At $260 it is definitely an investment, but like other pieces of quality furniture, it is made to last for years. I know that this will be around for a very long time!! The assembly was super easy! My husband can sometimes we challenged when it comes to assembly but he had this together in less than 30 minutes. Honestly, figuring out how the harness straps worked took us the longest of anything!!

If you interested in the Svan Signet, please take a couple of minutes to watch the review video my husband and I made for you! We show a lot of the features talked about here.

  11. This sounds like a great chair! I really like that it "grows" with your child. I also like the 5-point safety harness- kids are so wiley and seem to be ale to wiggle out of anything so this is so important! I like that you mentioned that your son got used to sitting in it and now will sit in it when you cook dinner. This must mean that he's comfortable which is great!

  17. This chair looks very nice in appearance and sturdiness! The price may be a little steep for some families, but a high quality item can be passed on to a neighbor or cousin and use for years and years.

  26. Great review, you hit on so many great points and features that we love about ours…and we also had a bit of trouble with the harness, but we had purchased it as a 'floor model' and the store had put it on wrong…lol So that didn't help matters!
