Original Stitch: Design your own shirt

I’m a designer, I love to design websites and make them look really cool. I’ve never designed clothes before, though I have always thought it would be cool to do. I was recently contacted by Original Stitch. It gave me the opportunity to design a shirt. I couldn’t wait.  I can’t wait to receive the shirt, but in the meantime I wanted to share it with you. Look for my review once I receive it.

I was given a gift code so that I could do the whole process myself. I could have just told the company what I wanted, but that would have taken away from the process. I can’t wait to receive the shirt, but in the meantime I wanted to share it with you. Look for my review once I receive it.

You get to choose from designing a casual shirt or a dress shirt. I choose to do a dress shirt. The first step is to choose the base fabric. I did a dark gray. Then the cut, I did slim. It takes you through every part of the shirt, long or short sleeves, type of collar, contrast for the collar and cuffs and so on.

As you choose options, you can see the price of the shirt. I really like that you don’t have to go through all the options and then get the price. Pricing is all over the board, and depends on what options you choose especially for the base fabric. I tried out a few options to see price points. I did notice that the dress shirts are at a higher price than the casual shirts. I wasn’t surprised as you usually find anything that is dressy be at a higher price point than casual.

Once I was done with my selection, I paid (put in gift code). From there, Original Stitch looks it over and emails you for the measurements. This is another really cool option that I liked. I can get dress shirts at the store and I need to get a certain neck length and hope that the arms and everything else fits. With Original Stitch, it’s customized for the person you’re buying. I know a few men that have super long arms who don’t wear dress shirts often because they can’t find anything that fits right.

Below is the shirt that I designed. You can see all the options that I chose. I can't wait to see it.

Yes the shirts can be a little more than some stores, but I also think that Original Stitch is competitive in their pricing. Plus you get to make everything custom, so for that I think the shirts are a great deal.

The whole process was so much fun, I’m sure you will love it as well. This will make a great Father’s Day present, and I’m sure he won’t be expecting it.

I would pick a dressy shirt and I would pick it for my husband and let him design it himself. I think he would definitely like that.

  28. Sorry for waking up an old post but here is my experience with Original Stitch. I have ordered 2 shirts so far. First arrived with huge cuffs but they have sent me an replacement one so no issues there. During my second order I wanted a bit tighter fit so I've instructed the support to use a bit smaller allowance. That ended in disaster because subtracting two numbers was obviously super difficult task for their support member and I ended up with small shirt. Not to mention, even though I have proven them that they have made a mistake, they refused to do a new shirt because I have already got a free replacement with a first one.
They have also stopped responding to my mails. That is rock bottom customer support and although the shirt material quality and marksmanship are top notch, their "support" staff is just awful.
    Do not recommend.
