Spoonfull of comfort

Homemade chicken noodle soup always makes you feel a little better when you are down right? That’s what the creators of Spoonful ofComfort thought.  The creator found out that her mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. She couldn’t go visit her and had to do something. She wanted to send her soup. It was that moment that Spoonful of Comfort was born.  I was asked to review Their Thinking of You package. I thought it was a great idea so of course I said yes.

There are many options and prices in the Thinking ofYou package. They range from $24.99 to $89.99. The most popular is the $59.99 package and you get the following items:

Half Gallon of handcrafted chicken soup
Note card, handwritten with your personalized message
Gift packaged
6 rolls made from scratch
Soup ladle
6 cookies either oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip (I received the oatmeal raisin)

For some of the high priced packages you can get other things added like organic chamomile tea and an apron.

Of course being a girl, the first thing I go for is the cookie. I was surprised on how moist they still were. They really did taste like someone just made them that day. When we had dinner I tried one of the buns. They were soft and airy. I have gotten buns before and within a few days they are hard and I can’t use them anymore.

Then there was the chicken soup, where it all began. I had high expectations of this soup. When I saw the site I was thinking that everything would come dry and I would need to add water and cook it. I was very wrong. It came already made in the jar. All I had to do was heat it up. The jar is so cute, I almost didn’t want to open it (almost). I heated some up and my daughter and I tried some. WOW was it fantastic. I loved it as did my daughter.

If I had to give a star rating (good idea Katrina, I should implement that), anyway, I would give everything a 5 start as it was delicious.

I like that Spoonful doesn’t just have the Thinking of You package but also for other occasions like get well, new baby, sympathy. They all have different add ons to make that package work well for the occasion.

Just recently, actually very recently Spoonful has come out with a lemonade package called Sweet Squeeze. You get 2 mason jar glasses, the lemonade, vintage straws and if you pick the you are my sunshine package you also get cookies and an inspirational sign. I’m thinking about ordering the lemonade package for myself. In my book there is nothing wrong with that.

Spoonful of Comfort is being super generous and is giving away the $59.99 thinking of you package and the lemonade package. 2 winners, 1 for the soup and 1 for the lemonade. Please use the Giveaway Tools below for your chance to win.

  2. It really all depends on who and why, but it is hard to go wrong with food of some variety. Or for my daughter, a stuffed animal, no matter the reason.
