Hillshire Farm Naturals

It’s school time and that means it’s also time to do school lunches. My oldest goes to a private school that only has hot lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. So even if she would have hot lunch whenever they offered she will still need something at least two days a week. Mya loves meat so when I got an email from Hillshire Farm asking me to try their new line, I of course said yes.

Their new line consists of  Slow Roasted Turkey Breast, Hardwood Smoked Turkey Breast, Honey Roasted Ham and Black Forest Ham

Besides the taste of these products I think my favorite part is the packaged. I don’t have to go and find another container, they are double-sealed, re-sealable tubs for maximum freshness, but they also contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives, colors or added nitrites/nitrates.

I have purchased Hillshire in the past but most of the time I buy lunch meat straight from the deli. I was really happy when I tried these and they tasted just as fresh as the deli meats. Meat can be expensive and the price of these are very affordable.

This morning I cut up some of the Honey Roasted Ham and added it to our scrambled eggs. It was so much better than the cubed ham that I usually buy.

Hillshire gave me a recipe and I tried it with Mya for part of her cold lunch one day. She loved it and asked me to make it again, so I say it’s a hit. It’s a beast of a sandwich, but It’s healthy and she got almost 2 meals out of it, she liked it so i’ll take it.
