Messy Beautiful Love by Darlene Schacht

by Darlene Schacht

"Love gets messy. Financial problems, sickness, aging parents, a chronically unhappy spouse . . . trials will inevitably come that threaten your marriage. No matter how long you’ve been married or how strong your relationship is, sooner or later you are going to have a mess to clean up. Messy Beautiful Love is about cleaning up messes God’s way, exchanging your ideas for His, and being prepared for both the best and the worst that marriage has to offer. "
Often time life gets in the way and even Christian women forget to prioritize our marriage!  This book by Darlene Schacht is unique in the way that she, too has been through the same trials in her own marriage, and knows that sometimes life just gets in the way. She talks about the problems she has had and how she and her husband has overcome their differences. While she is not offering too many unique insights, she does offer them in a very easy to read way. Since she is not a therapist, and just a wife and mom like you, this book feels much like a girlfriend talking to you and offering advice!

The book has definitely made me think and put my marriage as a priority. Sure, life still gets busy and hectic, but in today's society divorce is expected, and I know that is not the plan God has for my life! Messy Beautiful Love is a very thought provoking book and definitely helps me put things into perspective. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is struggling with the day to day monotony of marriage and looking for a way to put their marriage to the forefront of their life!
