Powell & Mahoney

When most people think of the holiday season, they start thinking of parties, get togethers and so on. I know when I go to parties that are mainly for adults I like to bring something with me. Some people don’t like alcohol, so I like to bring an option that will please everyone, a non-alcoholic option that if you want you can add to it. Powell & Mohoney asked if I would check out a few of their flavoring. I’m always up to trying new drinks so I definitely said said yes.

I was in the mood to channel my inner Latina Cuban culture I asked for the Mojito and also the Margarita flavors. Mya who is 11 loves being able to drink margaritas (aka slushies due to no alcohol) so when she saw the bottle she wanted to try it as well. Being that i’m such good mom (I know i’m reaching here) I gave in and said we could make enough for two. Once we blended it with ice and she had her glass, I then had the fun part of adding the tequila to mine (insert happy mom smile). It was really good. Most of the time I prefer a strawberry margarita but their lime version was great and I can definitely see myself getting a few more bottles.

I love that they list the ingredients right with the description so you know exactly what you are drinking.  Filtered water, cane sugar, Lime Juice from Concentrate, Citric Acid, Natural Orange Extract, Natural Key Lime Extract, Ascorbic Acid. Everything I see in this ingredient list looks great.

I was sad that I didn’t have any fresh mint to make my Mojito with, but the mix has some in it, so not all is lost. I let Mya taste the mix and she didn’t like it. I’m good with that as there was more for me. We always have a little rum around (you know for the just in case) so I added that to the mix, a little ice and club soda. I just wish I hadn’t used up all the limes making tacos the night before. Lesson learned to always keep those stocked as well.  The Mojito was so good. Powell & Mahoney hit the nail on the head with this one and I love it.

I’m not a big drinker, but do enjoy something once in awhile. It’s nice to know that there are companies like Paul & Mahoney out there that have great mixer options at very good prices. The bottle of Mojito is only $7.99. To me that is a great price, especially for the quality you are getting. They have options like Cosmo, Dirty Martini and even a Chipotle Bloody Mary. I definitely recommend checking them out for yourself or even to bring as a host gift.
