Drinks for the holiday from Sobieski and Blue Nectar

It’s the holiday season, and well there are going to be parties, and alcohol. I’m not a big drinker, but once in awhile I do like to have something. I was asked to try Blue Nectar Tequila and also Sobieski Vodka. Since I actually am a big fan of tequila, I really wanted to try it.

Like I said above, I’m not a big drinker. I probably have something at home once a month. Otherwise, if i’m at a party I will partake a little more often.

Most people don’t like tequila because they think of the burn it has when going down their throat. There are times that I will drink it straight, but not often. I usually like to mix it like in a tequila sunrise for example. I didn’t have any grenadine (boo), So I improvised and just added juice. I decided to just make a simple drink of pineapple juice, ice and tequila.

I have to say, it tasted so good. The Blue Nectar Silver was smoother than I thought it was going to be. So then I took a shot of it straight. To me it didn’t have the, oh my god i just took a shot of tequila taste. I had a shot of pickle juice ready to help it, but didn’t need it at all. Incase you are wondering about the pickle juice. After taking a shot of tequila you can take a shot of pickle juice and it will take the burn away (one piece of advice my brother taught me that actually works).

Blue Nectar Tequila is now my new favorite brand. Check out their store locator for one near you. I don’t have a store near me that sells it, but I am going to Chicago in a few days, and saw that there are a few there. My plan is to stop by and pick up a bottle or two.

My second favorite drink is Sex on the Beach. So, it worked out perfect when it came to trying out the Sobieski Vodkas. They have more than one flavor but for me, the classic plain is the way to go. Sex on the Beach is super easy to make, and to me tastes amazing.

1 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz peach schnapps
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz orange juice

mix in with ice, stir and enjoy!

I don’t really like drinking vodka by itself, so for me mixing it is the only way to go. I know the Sobieski Vodka was in the drink because I mixed it myself, but I couldn’t really taste it. It just made it that much better for me.

I made a vodka tonic for one of my friends using the Black Cherry and he said is was great. Vodka tonic is his prefered drink, so I trust him when it comes to him saying it’s a good brand or not. I highly suggest taking a look at their assortment of flavors next time you are at the liquor store.

Both of these brands are great and can help dress up an occasional drink or help make a party a little more fun.

  3. That sounds good. I've never heard of Blue Nectar but either but with a name like that, it has to be good. My daughter said she got caramel vodka and put it in apple cider and it was really good.
