Treetopia No 2 Pencil Artifial Christmas Tree

Let me just start by saying that my only choice for a Christmas tree is an artificial one. I am allergic to pine. Growing up in Northern Wisconsin in the middle of the woods was very difficult. What’s even worse is Christmas time. That’s because everyone has a real tree in their home. I am so allergic that just having a needle on me or smelling the tree (sap maybe) that I get migraines. Treetopia contacted me at the perfect time as our old tree broke (thanks to my dog) so we needed to get a new one anyway. So when they asked if they could send me one of their artificial trees, there was no way I was saying no.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t so sure about the No. 2 Pencil tree when I first looked at it, but it was very intriguing and I had never had a tree like it before. The No. 2 Pencil trees are well, like a No. 2 pencil, long and skinny. I was sent one of their 7.5 foot unlit trees. I choose unlit because I already have lights that would work for it.

My husband was about to take it out of the box and put it together when I told him he had to read the instructions. He did read them quickly, but then we realized that you don’t really need them. There are only 4 parts to the tree and one is the base. there are numbers on the parts but it’s pretty easy to figure out what goes where. Once put together all you have to do is the flewfing (that’s what Darin called it, pronounced flew fing). so really, from taking it out of the box, putting it together and then flewfing it was maybe 5 mins. To me that is amazing.

I will say that it looks a little different because of how skinny it is, but that’s only because we are so used to such large fat trees. I actually like that this is an option for small houses or apartments. I wish I had this tree a few years ago when I was living in a really tiny house and needed all the room we could get.

The No. 2 Pencil tree comes in a bunch of heights starting at 6 going to 9 feet. You can also get it unlit, clear lights or in colored lights. I like that there are many options. I prefer unlit since I have lights already, but that’s just me. If you don’t like the look of the No 2, Treetopia has many other styles, and i’m sure they have something you will like.

Like I said in the beginning, I am very allergic, and it is so bad that if my friends have real trees I can’t go over to their house nor can they come over to mind during the Christmas season. I can’t risk any pine coming into the house. I know it seems extreme, but that’s what I have gotten used to since I was little and we realized my allergy. So I really love when people have artificial trees. Price wise, yes you pay more at first, but in the long run you really do save money, and time from having to clean up and remembering to water the real tree, and hope that the animals don’t eat it. So if you are still looking for an artificial tree, I really recommend Treetopia.

  1. I've don't know if I have allergies to real pin trees but we've always had an artificial Christmas tree. We take it out of the box once a year and when done, it goes back in the box, No dead/dried up pine to clean up. lol Maybe one day when we move into a bigger place I will try to get a real tree, but for now I'm with you and will enjoy my artificial tree

  3. I have had real pine when I was younger.... I don't like it!! Those pine needles get in everything and you sweep them up for years. You have yourself a beautiful tree there... and no pine needles will drop.

  6. We have an artificial one up this time. Our first time ever. My grandma had one when I was a child, and I don't ever remember sturdiness being a challenge, but the tree we have now won't hold heavy ornaments. Your tree is pretty, I like how narrow it is, that's fashion-forward. :)

  8. Sorry about your allergies, it must be hard this time of year. I had never heard of a pencil tree but it is great for minimalist decor
