Disney Side @Home Celebrations Tween Villain Party

I have a 12 year old and a 2 year old, so their interests are far different. Yet, they still have one thing in common, both still love Disney. So when I was recently accepted to do Disney Side @Home Celebrations party I was really excited. We were sent the Disney Villains pack. Since it’s geared towards tweens/teens it was perfect for Mya and her friends. We waited a little bit a corresponded it with a sleep over/belated birthday party. Timing really was perfect.

Disney really did send us pretty much everything we needed, from the Mickey cake pan, games/activities, nail kit, banners, table cloth etc. They even threw in a few things for the adults ie the laundry soap and tea (much appreciated).

My daughter is a strange one and really isn’t much of a cake girl, so instead we used the cake pan to make a Mickey shaped rice krispie. I may be a web site designer, but I am not artistic when it comes to drawing, let along cake decorating. I am very lucky that I have a great friend that lives only a mile away that has such talents. She came over and helped decorate Mickey (many, many thanks!).

The party girls happened to have a basketball tournament that day, so while they were there, I was busy setting everything up and trying to come up with silly ideas for food and whatnot. I think I did really well, especially with the shrimp (I mean Ursula's sea creatures). When the girls saw the shrimp they went nuts. They devoured them all and what was left in the package in just a few mins. Of course no tween party is complete without some pizza, so I had to give them that too.

The girls had a blast painting their nails with the polish that Disney sent. Great colors (blue, black, purple etc). When it came time for a few of the games, I was actually surprised on how they got into it. One was matching Disney quotes with the attraction/movie they belong to. I had an advantage, that I have seen all the movies listed. It was fun watching the girls figure out which was which.

While they were playing poker, drinking margaritas (don’t worry, non alcoholic) and listening to Jason Derulo, I was attempting to make them brownies in the shape of Mickey with my waffle maker. Well, that didn’t workout as you can see from the picture, it was an epic fail. They said it still tasted good though, so there is the plus. They ended the night with a little pool and some movies.

All in all I think the girls definitely showed their Disney Side and had a great time! What’s even better is that we now have the Mickey cake pan for Fallon, who is obsessed with Mickey. I have a feeling we will be making lots of Mickey cakes in the future with it.
