TeamSnap, making sports more organized

Being a parent of a very busy 12 year old makes having a schedule a must have. I recently had a chance to look at a great site and app called TeamSnap. It makes organizing sports so much easier.

I have gotten both kids ready, in the car and gotten to the school only to find out practice was canceled. I know things can happen last minute and schedules change but having a system in place to let everyone know at the same time is not only helpful but should be a must have. TeamSnap has taken organization to the next level. As I was looking at their site, it was like they were reading my mind as to what to all include. My family and friends can probably tell you that my OCD about being on time and having events organized it a bit on the crazy side. What can I say, I like to be on time.

The first thing you do is sign up for TeamSnap. That alone takes about 2 minutes, if that. You can also do their 21 day trial for free. Most sites make you enter in a card and they charge it if you don’t cancel in time. TeamSnap doesn’t do that AT ALL. There is no card needed!!! I love this feature! There is a plan that is free otherwise they do offer paid plans that have more features. Once you get signed up, you are good to start entering in participants. You can add parents, other coaches, members of the team. For each person you can enter in notes as well (so much detail, I love it).

Once you have all the members in you can start creating your events, games or anything you want. You can choose to only send it to some of the participants if you want. It is so customizable to your needs. When you send out an event, the recipients will receive an email where they can say they are going or not. This makes it great to know right away on who is going to make it and who isn’t. You can either use the site on your computer but for even easier and faster access you can use the app. You can either use the site on your computer but for even easier and faster access you can use the app. I love the app since i'm pretty much always on my phone or tablet as is my daughter. So she can see the changes as I do as well.

We have lost emails with the address to tournaments and had to text other parents or the coach asking for them to resend it. Talk about embarrassing and also time consuming. TeamSnap has an area where you can put the address right in the event. This saves everyone time especially the coach or the person organizing the event. They don’t need to look up directions and send it to everyone (I have done this and it takes too much time).

I have already sent this to My daughters school and to her coach on the tournament league she is on. I think they should sign up. It will make the school and the tournament coordinators life so much easier and everyone else’s as well.

I highly recommend you checking it out, especially if you have kids in sports or know someone that does.
