Valentine's Day perfumes

So I may or may not have a slight obsession to perfume. So on a totally unrelated topic I want to share with you a few new scents (ok perfumes) that I received recently. I love perfume, I really do. I love that you can change the scents to fit your mood for that day, at least that’s how I view it.

I’m going to start with the most interesting container award. Even though Nicki Minaj is not my favorite singer, I do like her. I’m singing super bass in my head right now as I’m typing. I love her being true to herself (at least what she shows the public) and embarrassing originality. Now for her perfume, she didn’t disappoint. The first thing that stands out is the bottle. To get at the spray nozzle, you have to take her head off. It’s actually pretty cool looking. Definitely not like anything I have had before. The scent is called Pink Friday. When smelling it, I thought of sweetness, light and very summer like. When I read the notes I was right. Niki uses the following note combination: Grapefruit, juicy apple, star fruit, waterlily, honeysuckle, Italian mandarin, blackberry, white raspberry, boysenberry, lotus, starry jasmine, caramelized pear, vanilla and musk. I think the price mark for this is very good. going from $39-$60 depending on the size you want. You can find Pink Friday at Macy’s, Kohl's, Dillard’s and many more department stores.

I’m sure a lot of you remember when Britney Spears dancing on stage many years ago with a python. I’m not afraid of snakes but I don’t think I would have done that. Anyway, in 2014 Britney came out with a scent called Fantasy. The bottle looks like snake skin with a very elegant top. When I first smelled Fantasy, I got a darker with a hint of musk feeling. She uses red lychee, kiwi, jasmine and chocolate, along with creamy musk, enchanted orris root and sensual woods. I knew I was getting a musk scent in there. I really like the scent and for the price of $37.50 you get a great deal. You can find Fantasy Stage Edition at Kohl’s and Sears.

This last one is very new to me. Elizabeth Arden teamed up with Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and came out with perfume pencils in the fall of 2014. These are really neat as you can take them with you on the go and not worry about them getting broken or anything. Another plus, is that each of the pencils are only $9.99! So for under $10 you can get a really cool perfume pencil for yourself or even as a gift for someone else. Not only would this make a great Valentine’s Day gift, but also an added bonus to throw inside a gift basket. To me it’s more like a crayon than a pencil. To get more you just twist the bottom and it comes up, like lipstick.

I received Justin Bieber’s The Key and Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck. Now, I’m not a fan of Justin’s music but this perfume pen actually smells really good. I’m going to be giving it to my daughter who I know will love it. Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck is my favorite out of the two, so I’m keeping that one for myself (perks of being the mom).  You can find the perfume pencils at department stores and some big box stores as well.

Valentine's Day is next week, and what women doesn't like perfume. I recommend taking a look at these options when you are at the store. I know I like them.
