Swagbucks earn while you shop

Have you heard of Swagbucks? I you haven’t and you spend a lot of time online or shopping (raises hand) then please keep reading as you are in for a treat. Swagbucks is a great website that allows you earn points (called SB) while shopping, taking short surveys or even browsing online.

Earning SB is super easy, easy like just shopping on Amazon. I mean, who  doesn’t already do that right? You can also earn by referring friends. The first thing you have to do is sign up. that takes pretty much a few seconds especially if you sign up with your facebook account. Once you are done with that and confirm your email you are set to start earning SB.

Each task has a different point value, but you know what it is before you do it. Also each retailer has a different value. For example I can receive  6 SB points for every $1 spent at Hotels.com. I was traveling last week so I was staying at hotels for a few days. It was super easy and fast to rack those up. Seriously, $100+/night means a lot of points. All you have to do is go through their site and click on the store you want to shop at.

Google Chrome even has an extension that you can add to your toolbar to help with the shopping called the SwagButton.  The SwagButton is really neat because it alerts you (just a little blurb in the corner of the screen) when there are SB-earning opportunities at over 1,000 different online retailers and lets you activate those opportunities with a single click!

To redeem, you simply go to the redem section and choose what you want. It’s also a great way to look at what you may want and save your SB up to “buy” them.

Swagbucks has a section on their site called Swagstakes where you can use some of your SB to use as an entry for a sweepstakes. Right now they have an Apple MacBook Pro valued at $1299 and it is only 5 SB per entry. In case you are wondering, I did put a few points towards some entries (couldn’t help it).

I would really recommend checking this site out if you want to earn points for things you are buying anyway. It’s also a great way to save up for a gift or just a treat for yourself.
