Ugee Graphic Tablet

People find it funny that even though I have my degree in Multi Media Web Design, I can’t draw. It’s true, I can’t draw at all, but I love to play with things and change things and make sites look great and functional. Having a tablet helps me do that and helps me edit photos as well. I don’t need to know how to draw to do that. I have however used a graphics tablet for a while as it can be used for so many things. My daughter has taken up drawing and keeps asking to use mine. So when saw the UGEE tablet, I thought it would be perfect for her.

I will be giving this to her for Christmas (so I hope she doesn’t read this part). I of course had to try it out first for you guys. I love that UGEE send extra pen tips with this. I tablet I have didn’t and it’s not fun having to order them when you only received one. Now the pen is a little touchy, but that’s pretty normal. Each pen is a little different and you have to get used to it.

Here are some specs:

  • 10" x 6.25" drawing area with 16:10 aspect ratio
  • 8 programmable hot keys on the left side of the tablet
  • 16 preset function keys around the edges of the drawing area
  • 2048 level Pressure,4000 lines per inch resolution, 230 RPS report rate
  • Compatible with all major graphics application:Photoshop,Illustrator,Comic Studio, SAI, Infinite Stratos, 3D MAX, Autodesk MAYA, Pixologic ZBrush etc

Finding a AAA battery for the pen took me longer than it does to install the software, which is always a plus. Once it was all installed (and I had the battery) It was only a few minutes before I could start using it. I love how easy and seamless the set up is. Just plug the tablet into the USB port and you are good.

We don’t have a protective case for the tablet and I can see it getting scratched up easily, so my plan (so far) is to keep it in it’s box. It’s a really nice sturdy box actually so it’s perfect.

This would make for a perfect Christmas present and for around $60 on Amazon, it’s a great deal. You can also check out their site for their other tablets and see if one of them will fit your needs.
