Lego Dimensions- Great Christmas Gift for Kids

We love Legos, I mean, what kid doesn’t? So when you take them and put them in a video game, it’s even better. That is exactly what Lego Dimensions did. This is just in time for Christmas. I was lucky and was sent a copy to check out for you guys.

The first thing we did when we got the game, was of course start building. I will admit that i’m not the best when it comes to building something with Lego and having to look at a model. I’m much better at making stuff up (even if it doesn’t look good). I had my buddy Canon help me out, and he took over like he built this before. I was pretty impressed for a 7 year old! Glad I have him around to help me with this (at 31, i’m getting too old). Having to build the portal was so much fun. I like that it gets you in the play mode instead of just taking it out of the box and plugging it in.

I used to watch the Wizard of Oz over and over again as a kid, so seeing it as part of video games is really cool. Even better is that you can mix other characters with it as well.  You can get Scooby Doo, and even Jurassic World! Warner Bros really took it heart to create a family friendly game that is fun. So many games out there that aren’t really for kids, but this isn’t one of them. This is one that I would let me kids play without me needing to play with them.

I found the controls easy to use and the game to understand. It took me a few minutes to grasp it, but them I wa ok. For cannon, it took him a few extra minutes but not long at all and he was kicking my butt (not surprised). Even though it is a video game we can still use our imagination and play at the same time. That’s why I don’t feel too guilty letting my kids play it, and sometimes you just need to let them have fun.

This really is a great game for kids that love Lego, want to trying something a little different from the other games (while still be similar enough to understand). You can of course buy it for a PS4, Wii U, etc. I really recommend checking out the closest store to you that have it, or order online too. I bet your kids. or whoever you get it for will love it.  This makes for a great Christmas gift and you can buy the add on characters throughout the year as gifts as well.
