Things Remembered- Whiskey Lover Set

I love personalized gifts. To me, they are more unique  and I know my family loves them. I have gone to Things Remembered at the malls before but have never ordered anything online from them. Recently one of the items that jumped out at me was the Whiskey Lover Set. This set not only gives you 2 tumblers but also 6 stones!!! To make it even better, you can have the tumblers and stones engraved.

One thing my husband would always complain about is ice in his drinks. Things remembered uses soapstone cubes. The reason for this is because they are nonporous, don’t pick up the smell or taste of the liquid, and of course they don’t water down drinks. They will also NOT scratch the glass!! You can personalize all 6 of the stones if you want to or only a few. You can also put something different on all 6. I kept it simple and just put his initials on all of them. I love that they come in a little drawstring bag as well so you can keep them all together (it’s the little things sometimes).

Now onto the tumblers. They are 9" x 5.25" x 4". I honestly don’t know if that’s the normal size for whiskey glasses or not, but they look perfect for me. I mean when you are drinking that type of beverage you aren't doing it in large quantities. You really only need about an ounce.  little goes a long way, at least in my house.

You have a lot of options when it comes to personalizing them. If you don’t know what you want already, Things Remembered has suggestions that you can use. Otherwise you can create your own. You have up to 6 lines on the front and back of the glass. Personally, I only used one side each. 6 lines (about 21 characters each line) gives you a lot of space. As you write on each line you get a preview of how it will look. This is great as you don’t have to get it all done and then realize you don’t have enough space. You can also chose the font you want as the color (for a small extra cost).

Do keep in mind the more words/characters, and extras you do, the price will increase. With that said… I love these tumblers and think ours turned out great. The two quotes I used are: "Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls. The massive characters are seared with scars." Khalil Gibran and "Try again, fail again. Fail better." Samuel Beckett. I know they seem kind of random. To make a really long story short, they are quotes from one of his favorite shows and the people that said them means a lot.

I can’t wait to give this to him in a gift basket along with a bottle of his favorite whiskey.

So if you are still looking for that perfect gift and need it personalized, keep Things remembered in mind, and maybe even the Whiskey Lover Set. Otherwise take a look at all their other products. Something is bound to jump out and be the perfect gift.

  1. I love that they won't scratch the glass. That part I didn't know before. It's also awesome that they don't absorb the taste of whatever liquid they're in. These are a great gift idea.

  2. I happen to know a guy (he may or may not live in my house) who is getting these stones for Christmas from our son. ;) From what they say, having the iced stones for whiskey is far better than ice cubes.

  3. I love personalized gifts they are perfect to give at the holidays. I had no idea that they made fake ice cubes like this! I hate how my ice melts and waters down the drink, I may need a seat of these for me.

  4. I loved the idea of this personalized gift but I wonder if the stones have a flavor to them. Also how do you wash these?

  6. Definitely a fun and personalized gift for a man! The guy I was dating he did drink but now I am not sure if he will be drinking much. Maybe next year he might again and this will be a cool unique gift.
