Get kids outside and Play #PlayfulTrends

We were recently on vacation visiting family and friends. During our trip one of our friends wanted to go to the zoo. This isn’t a huge zoo as it’s a small town, but it’s nice enough and has tons of ducks and geese to play with and feed. Actually that is my daughter’s favorite thing to do there. She loves all the animals but she really loves to run around and feed the ducks.

Voice of Play is an education and advocacy initiative of the non-profit membership association, IPEMA. They were formed to educate and promote the benefits of children’s free outdoor play and playgrounds. One of the things they do is highlight how kids thrive from playing.  

Admission to the zoo is free, so all the adventure really costs me is a loaf of bread so she can throw pieces at them to eat. Then afterwards we usually head over to the playground area so she can play even more I love it as it gives her a chance to get out and run around, be outside and of course be active.

Its summertime, it’s nice out, so why not go out and let the kids play? What is something that you guys do when outside. Do you love the park, the zoo or just taking a walk around the block?
