Sizzling Sausage Grill

I grew up in Wisconsin, so I know brats. It never really occurred to me that other areas in the country didn’t really eat them. It was so normal for me. I moved to Arizona last year, had a cookout and had a hard time finding brats. Now I know not everyone has a grill, or room for one. Johnsonville has come out with a grill that you can use right on your counter called Sizzling Sausage Grill.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have a whole lot of expectations for this grill. I’m used to grilling outside, not inside. With that said, I gave this a change with an opened mind. I’m so glad I did because this is amazing. It’s made so kids can use it as well. I have no issue having my 13 year old use this, as no flames or anything needed.

Now, I’m used to boiling my brats in beer before cooking. I didn’t have any beer available, so I used the next best thing, chicken stock. You may think it’s strange, but trust me, it’s good! After boiling for about 10-15 minutes, I plugged in the Sizzling Sausage Grill, put the brats in, and waited about 10 minutes and they were done.

There is a temperature control in the center, so the machine knows when it’s done. Whenever you cook brats, make sure you always have one in the center regardless if you are making one or 5. You don’t have you boil them first if you don’t want to. Just make sure they aren’t frozen when you put them into the grill.

Since this isn’t a regular grill, you won’t have the traditional markings, but the coloring this does is great. I was really surprised at how golden, dark and in between the brats got on both sides, perfect is what they were. Since I’m being honest, I will tell you that they don’t taste exactly the same as if they would right from a charcoal grill, but they are still really good. Throw them in a brat bun (or any large bun you can find), add some ketchup, mustard and any other toppings you like, and you got yourself a great treat.

Right now you can order the grill right from sizzling sausage grill site for one payment of $99.98 (plus shipping/handling), or 2 payments of $49.99 (plus shipping/handling). I would go now, as this makes for a great gift for all those friends who love to eat.
