Blue Man Group at The Luxor Las Vegas

If you have ever been to Las Vegas you know gambling is a big scene. Besides gambling there is good food, shopping and shows. There is a show for everyone, and every age range. Since my friend Dan and his son were visiting we wanted a show that was kid friendly. The Blue Man Group was a show we could all agree on and one that neither Dan or Canon had seen. We were thrilled when Luxor hosted the 4 of us for the show.

If you are in a wheelchair like I am, getting tickets for shows can be hard as walking isn’t easy. Luckily I can walk short distances and the crew made me feel very welcome and not bothered by my chair at all. While we waited for people to arrive and the show to start. Crew members passed out streamers so everyone could make headbands or whatever they wanted. It’s a fun way to pass time. It was meant for everyone, not just the kids.

The show is all about fun and audience participation. Once the show starts they have the audience repeat phrases and get into the fun spirit that makes up the show. I have seen the show before so I knew the basics of what they would do. It was so much fun watching Canon. I don’t think he ever took his eyes off the stage unless the Blue Men came into the audience which they do a few times during the show.

I really don’t want to give the show away, but don’t want to leave you hanging either. There is a lot of music, comedy, they usually pull an audience member onto the stage, and of course lot of flying things they catch in their mouth (they are known for this). All in all, it’s an amazing show.

Like I said above, The Blue Man Group is at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. The theater is a good size, and there is no bad seat. If you do get into the first few rows they will give you a poncho. This is to protect you as you may get paint on you. The show runs for a little over 90 minutes with no intermission. Also, make sure you are not late, or they will put a stage light on you for everyone to see (all in good fun).

After the show the band and crew usually wait outside in the lobby so you can take pictures with them. Don’t expect the Blue Men to talk to you then either (they never say a word the entire show).

We had a great time, and Canon couldn’t stop talking about how cool it was. When they got back home to WI, I know he told his uncle and others on how awesome it was. If you are ever in Las Vegas make sure you take some time out of your schedule and see the show. They do have shows in other parts of the country, so if you can't make it to Vegas, maybe you can see them in another city.
