Book Your Las Vegas Fun with TripAdvisor

I’m a planner, sometimes to a fault, but I love knowing what’s going on. I’m not just talking about my day to day, i’m talking about vacations, day trips, things like that. When I have an idea about an attraction, I look up the review on it. One of the sites I go back to over and over again is TripAdvisor.

A friend of mine and his son were coming to visit, so we wanted to do some really fun activities. Since I live so close to Las Vegas, it only made sense to look at their options. I love the fact that I could click on the “things to do” tab and put in the city. From there I could filter even more according to our likes or even kid friendly. We decided on 2 attractions for the kids. One being the High Roller, and the other was the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

The High Roller “Measuring 520 feet in diameter, the High Roller eclipses both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer. Facing north and south parallel to Las Vegas Boulevard, the wheel takes 30 minutes to complete one full revolution and features 28 glass-enclosed cabins with broad views of Las Vegas and the Strip. Each spherical cabin can hold up to 40 people, with benches on either side of the cabin and plenty of floor space in between-but we imagine you'll want to stand and admire the view. Sight-seeing isn't all that the High Roller has to offer. Take in the best views of Las Vegas from inside a High Roller Happy Half Hour cabin. Your ticket includes one 30-minute ride and an open bar inside the cabin! Allow your body and mind to soar 550 feet in the sky above the Las Vegas Strip in a unique and personalized yoga session with a professional instructor. Or experience a one-of-a-kind sky high chocolate tasting experience paired with your choice of wine!”- TripAvidsor

Let me start by saying I’m petrified of heights; however, I knew that the pods are enclosed and I would be safe. My fear is more of open space type thing. Anyway, I figured it was worth the chance since Dan and Canon were visiting and they really wanted to go on it. I have to say, I’m really glad. The view from the top is amazing. We went at night so, all the lights in the city were lit up and we could see for miles. You are in the pod for a half hour total, but that gives you plenty of time to see. Our pod only had about 10 people in it, so we had plenty of room to move around (thank goodness because my wheelchair takes up a lot of room. I was only expecting to see the city, I didn’t think it would look as cool as it did.

Booking the High Roller through TripAdvisor was very easy. I put in how many kids and adults and it gave the price options for day, or night hours. I selected what I wanted and booked it. It really couldn’t be any easier than that. Once we got to the High Roller, I showed the confirmation, they gave us the tickets and being in a wheelchair, they helped us up and through the line. I have been through places that make you do the twist and turn in the lines, and it’s very difficult. The High Roller staff were very considerate of my needs. There is a reason why people give this a 4.5 stars out of 5 on TripAdvisor. Personally, I give it a 5 star rating. We had a great time, and I would even go back and do it again. Thinking of doing the daytime ride so I can see the city in the light.

The Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. was definitely more for the kids than for the adults. Canon, like most boys loves Marvel, so after reading the reviews, we thought we would give them a chance, as the kids were really excited to see everything. So, I booked it for 3 adults (adult pricing is ages 12-99) and 2 kids (ages 4-11).

“A while ago there was an idea. An idea to bring together a group of remarkable people so they could become something more. That idea was The AVENGERS Initiative. Now, we're continuing that idea. To bring together another group of remarkable people so they can do something more. Welcome to The AVENGERS Scientific Training And Tactical Intelligence Operative Network. The S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is an intelligence operation created to provide vital combat support for The AVENGERS. Those of you who choose to engage, will become part of an elite network of individuals and organisations currently supporting Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Inside you will be given unprecedented access to some of S.T.A.T.I.O.N.'s's most highly guarded artifacts, intelligence files, experiments and assessments. Your mission: To delve into the history, science, engineering, genetics, technology and profiles of Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man. Your goal: To interactively assemble case files on each of the characters and move on to become qualified members of the AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. If you think you have what it takes. If you think you can be something more...Register now and become part of The AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N.”- TripAdvisor

Once you go in, they give you a device (iphone), so you can do the missions, learn and answer questions. You can also take pictures with it. The attraction is self guided, but there are always staff around to help you with any questions you may have. Canon’s device had a low battery during the walk, but a staff member was able to go get him a new one without any issues. My youngest daughter is 5, so she didn’t really get the thing, but still had fun looking at all the suites and really loved the game at the end (to prove you can be part of The AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N team. Mya, who is 14 isn’t into comics, but still also had a good time. She loved reading up on everything and trying the virtual reality station. Canon on the other hand, loved every second of it, which was so fun to watch. Something about seeing a kid really excited to learn about things, and see his favorite characters from the comics he reads and movies he watches. If you or your kids love Marvel, i’m sure they would love to walk through The AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N which is in Treasure Island.

TripAdvisor isn’t only for attractions. You can find deals on hotels , vacation rentals, and even flights (they will compare to other sites for you). For me, it’s the site I go when I want to hear from people who have been to the hotels, restaurants, attraction etc. It gives me a true feeling of what their experience is like.

TripAdvisor removes this friction:
  • Knowledge: We consolidate the options in one place, so you can easily search for what best suits your needs.
  • Reviews: We show you thousands of reviews on attractions so you can make informed choices
  • Ease: We make booking online or on our free mobile app quick and easy – no hotel concierge, no guidebook, no ancient brochures.
  • Whenever, wherever: You can book a month in advance, a week in advance, a day in advance, or a ‘skip the line’ ticket form the very line you’re standing in.
  • VIP access: We offer skip-the-line opportunities, behind-the-scenes access, private viewings and more
  • 24/7 customer service: Book with TripAdvisor Attractions and you’ll have 24/7 access to our customer support team
Low price guarantee: If you find a lower price for the same tour or activity within 72 hours of booking, or if you arrive in your destination and find your activity offered at a lower price by our operator, let us know.  We’ll refund the price difference

So, when you are planning your next outing, make sure you visit TripAdvisor first for the reviews and book your plans.
