Chocolate Pudding Poke Cake

Who doesn’t love cake? I just made a chocolate poke cake with chocolate pudding and it is amazing, and VERY simple. It does take a little longer than a normal cake as you need it to set before putting on the whipped cream, but prep is fast. Check out the video below and the recipe written out.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 ¼ c water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 box pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 container of whipped cream
  • Butter or spray (to grease pan)

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. Mix the cake mix, water, oil and eggs until smooth and pour into greased pan.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes
  4. Once done let cake cool for a few minutes while you make the pudding (mix milk and pudding mix until smooth and let set for about 5 minutes)
  5. Poke holes into the cake with a fork, wooden spoon handle or even a straw. You can put as many holes as you want.
  6. Pour pudding mix over the cake and spread. Then let set in the fridge for at least 2 hours
  7. Add whipped cream over the cake

Cut and enjoy!!!

  1. I never realized that you can make a chocolate cake with pudding mix. That is so interesting. I make corn souffle with pudding mix. I guess it makes sense. Sounds and looks delicious.
