DIY Manuka Honey Face Mask

I would never have thought about using honey for a face mask, but let me tell you, it’s pretty awesome. Of course, the quality of honey matters, which may surprise some. All honey is not equal. Recently I was sent some Manuka Honey from Melora, and I couldn’t wait to try it as the face mask instead of as food like I always have.

This DIY mask only takes 3 ingredients. One you may not have on hand besides the Manuka Honey, but the other is a pantry staple for me.

Ingredients:

Instructions:
  1. Wet your face
  2. Mix 3 ingredients until forms a paste
  3. Apply the mixture with your fingers or with a brush
  4. Leave it on for a min of 20 minutes
  5. Rinse with arm water and pat dry

My daughter has sensitive skin but really loves this. I know some don’t do well with cinnamon, so if you want you can just do the rose water and the Manuka Honey. Mya was the first to try it and said it was super easy to apply (even without the brush). She likes out soft her face was afterwards.
Now, if you aren’t into the whole facemask thing, don’t worry, there are so many great things to use Manuka Honey for. Some examples are:
  • Hot or cold cereal
  • Tea
  • Oatmeal
  • Toppings for bread/toast
  • So much more

About Melora:
Our story began with Phil & Sharan Caskey, back in the mid 1990’s, who had a vision to have the traditional Māori knowledge of the Mānuka plant recognised as an important and worthwhile resource for world health. Working alongside the University of Waikato in 2000, and a medical device company in the UK, Phil co-created and registered the first Mānuka honey wound care dressing in the world. It wasn’t till then the real qualities and unique benefits of Mānuka honey were first discovered, and introduced to the world.

About Manuka Honey: “One of nature’s truly incredible and unique ingredients, our Mānuka honey is sourced and processed with the utmost care to ensure its finest quality, highest purity and richest natural compounds. From our landowner partners, to the beekeepers, extraction and processing team, we are all very passionate about bringing you only the best Mānuka honey.”
“Through our Mānuka Originz™ programme, from the moment each hive is positioned within the Mānuka forests to the point where the honey from each individual hive is filled into the jar, we track, trace and monitor every ounce of Mānuka honey we produce. You can then enter the batch code of the honey you have purchased to find out where it comes from. That is how you know our honey is 100% authentic.”

We are a UMF® licensee who you can trust (UMF License No. 2015). All our Mānuka honey is tested, certified and graded as UMF®. This verifies the real Mānuka content in our honey.

  5. Honey has so many uses but I have only ingested it on bread or tea before this. I will try and get the honey and when I have time to spend on pampering try it as a mask ingredient, I can't wait.

I need to try this. Honey has so many healing properties but I did not know it would also be great when applied topically. I don't have Manuka Honey at home, but I will make sure I get some!
