Infant CPR- The Online Course

When my oldest daughter, Mya, was younger
she choked while in the care of my Mother. My Mom was luckily able to get it out, and everything ended up being fine, but it was a scary incident. After that day I took a class on CPR because I wanted to be able to help if that every happened again. To be honest I let my certification lapse because of time and money so when infantCPR contacted me to take their course I jumped at the idea. I still remembered the information but it was great to get a refresher.

I never thought of taking a CPR class online, but after I thought about it the more it makes sense. Many of us do not have the time to attend an in person CPR class, especially those of us with small children.  I obtained my college degree online, and feel that I retained the information from that, so why shouldn't I take a CPR course online.

I took all 3 courses: infant, child and adult. I love the videos. They go over everything multiple times to make sure you understand it. If you did not understand what was said, you can always go back and redo that section. The written curriculum is fantastic and completely up to date with standards and is constant with what is taught by the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. As we all know, the CPR protocol is always changing, so it is important to find material that is up to date!

Once you are done watching the videos and studying the written portion you then take a 25 multiple choice and true-or-false question test.  As long as you pass (85% or better) you can print out the completion form.

In my opinion everyone who has contact with children should take a CPR class. You never know when you will need to use it. You can sign up for yourself or use it as a gift for someone. Many healthcare jobs now accept online CPR certifications too!

  1. CPR is great to have in any situation. It saves lives every day. I had to renew my CPR course for work just after my daughter was born, and I'm glad I did. We need to update every year and if you don't use it, you definitely forget it!
