Kids these days..... ah, I do feel old saying that but.... kids these days are so technologically savvy it is scary! Even when my seven year old was born, which does not feel like all that long ago- there was not smart phones or other small/compact smart devices. The best I had was my trusty laptop and pink flip phone! Now that baby brother has come along, there are tablets and smart phones, iPods and iPads....a person would be lost in this world of electronics if they did not know how to work all of this. Anyway, because of this, baby boy is so savvy about electronics that he has been working my iPhone PROPERLY since he was about a year old. He has begun to steal his big brothers tablet and handheld gaming devices and it was starting to become a problem! His brother is very generous with him, but there are few things that are hands off, and his tablet is one of them. Even though my little guy is not yet two, we are working on his colors and shapes now, and this tablet has these pre-installed. Even though his big brother is already in second grade, I did notice that under the 1st grade section, there were simple fractions and flash cards that are appropriate for him at this age. This tablet teaches all of the necessary skills to succeed in early education. There is also a front and rear facing camera which adds a fun little touch.
