3Doodler helps kids with their imagination

“Everything that now exists was once imagined. So, if you want something to exist, you must first be able to imagine it.” ~Wayne Dyer I recently read this quote and it really spoke to me. Imagination is so important for kids and their development. Fallon imagined a Sun that is Yellow on the inside, Purple on the outside and orange. So now that sun exists, with the help of 3doodler she made that happen.

GeoSmart Lunar Rover has kept both my boys entertained for hours!

My boys love the construct and build things. They spend a ton of time daily on legos and building blocks so I knew they would love the GeoSmart Lunar Rover. This has been so much fun for the entire family. This neat magnetic building toy has so many options that you can make with it! You can do a more complex rover, or a more basic one depending on your skill level. 

Something that is very important to me is safety because we have a little one in the house. The Geosmart toys are safe because the magnets are contained in a double welded core. This makes for a very tough toy that is safe and fun to play with!

Today I hosted a #Pokemonhouseparty from House Party!

My oldest son has a fantastic little group of Pokemon loving friends so I was excited to host the Pokemon Party from House Party. We received a box of seven toys which was great because all together we had seven guests. The box was a little uneven, as some of the packs were of the smaller Pokemon characters, and the other boxes had better toys, so to keep the kids from getting mad, I had each kid draw a number and they got the present that corresponded with that number. Everyone wanted the coveted Mewtew but of course there was only one. After some initial disappointed, everyone ended up being happy with their toys and happily played together with them. Surprisingly, my three year old was the most thrilled with his, and I thought he liked Pokemon the least! The box we received included : Throw 'n' Pop Poke Ball Duel Set which was a highly sought after toy because it was the throwing ball which is really cool. It can be reloaded and thrown into battle. The rest of the kids received an assortment of other figures. Some were medium sized, and like I said the Mewtew was the most coveted figure of all the children at our party. All in all the party was a blast, and the toys will be much enjoyed in the future.

Review of Gigamons and Froggy Boogie from Blueorange Games

We love playing family games and I received two new ones I am thrilled to tell you about from Blueorange Games! 

Froggy Boogie has become a new favorite in our family. This eye popping fun game is amazing and I love that it teaches reasoning skills and solidifies colors for my pre-schooler! 

It’s nap time for the baby frogs, but they still want to play! Players roll two colored dice and look underneath one eye of the matching big frog. If it’s blank, the baby frog can hop across the next lily pad. If there’s a frog on the eye, the baby has been caught! Remember which eyes to pass up to help your baby be the first to race around the pond. This delightful memory game is 100% wood.

Review of SmartGames Smart Car 5x5, Dinosaurs-Mystic Islands and IQ Puzzler Pro

As a family, one of our favorite times is playing games together on family game night. SmartGames recently sent me three awesome ones to try out. One is perfect for my younger son (but it also a brain teaser for my older son too), and the other two are fun for my older son as well as us. Each of these games are challenging games that really make you think. I love the idea of these being brain twisters so much that I decided to give me older son extra tablet time in exchange for completing one of the game challenges. This is a win win because he loves the challenge, and it feels more like fun than a chore but he is also stretching his mind!

Smart Car 5x5
This is basically a puzzle, but it is a 3D puzzle. You look at the picture and you put the blocks together on the car to fit the picture. For the younger children it shows all angles of the way it is supposed to be. For older children and adults it only shows one angle so it leaves you guessing. This is a very well made puzzle. The blocks are all wooden and the car is fun to play with without using it the way it was meant to be. We have ALL spent hours of fun trying to figure this one out!

 Dinosaurs-Mystic Islands
Another great one that the kids really have to think about and plan their strategy. My younger son (3) really wants to get his hands on this one because it is dinosaurs, but it is just too complicated at his age now. This game uses visual perception, concentration and planning to keep the carnivores from the herbivores. This one has proven to be very difficult for my nine year old son because he has ADHD and his concentration is not always the best, however, he really likes this game and mommy loves that it offers a fun challenge to him!

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with dolls. My sisters and I would spend hours playing with our dolls and using our ever-growing imaginations in pretend play experiencing adventures only a child can dream up. Glitter! Yes, I just said glitter. I have a three year old so that word can be scary sometimes. Luckily she still lets me help her to use them. That or she isn’t aware that she could do it alone (I won’t tell her that though). We recently received a toy that required the use of both glitter and glue! I was a little worried at first but I calmed down as I saw Fallon use it and how much fun she was having. Don’t worry though, I was inches away the whole time. My daughter has been getting into playing more and more with toys that don’t involve a screen (which is fantastic). One of her new toys is the Lalaloopsy Super Silly Party Playset. It’s a long name but is really cute. It does require batteries but has demo ones with it so if you don’t have any on hand you will be ok for a little bit.

Spring is definitely here and summer is just around the corner. I have a 2 year old and a 12 so the movie frozen has been played a time or two in my house. My girl’s favorite character is Olaf, so when I got the opportunity to review an Olaf toy and also an Olaf snow cone maker from JAKKS Pacific, I knew my kids would love the, so there was no saying no to these.

My boys love using their imagination so when I was asked to review an item from Pacific Play Tents I jumped at the chance.We received the green camo set from them which included the tent, the chair and a sleeping bag. Both of my boys really enjoyed this set and even got daddy and our dog involved too!

Since receiving this set, we have spent a ton of time in it, and even had pick nick lunches and even pretended to roast marshmallows! It is just big enough to fit both of my boys (ages 2 and 7) in it but not overwhelmingly big (which is great since it is kept in my living room!) The chair is actually extremely sturdy and great to take along with you to the beach or anywhere else that your little one might like a chair to sit in, and the sleeping bag is just as comfortable as every other sleeping bag I have ever been in, and a pretty good size! It would definitely hold my almost 80lb 7 year old well.

Fire Safety Tips from Chuggington Fire Patrol Rescue Day

We just love Chuggington! My oldest was a huge fan when he was younger and now my two year old is obsessed. I hear him say chooochoootrain about 20 times a day, and loves watching all episodes and playing with the trains. Even though his vocabulary is pretty limited at this point, he has no problem saying KoKo! In today's world, there is such emphasis on electronics that sometimes kids forget the joy of playing with simple things like sticks and blocks. Even though my boys are like typical kids today and love their electronics, I do put emphasis on them going outside, playing with sticks and blocks and cars and trucks, things that kids should do instead of looking at a screen all day long!

I just received a 60 pc block set from Back to Block for my younger son, and both my boys actually love it! It is fantastic for my boys to play with and use their imagination to build things! My youngest grabs me several times a day and says "blocks" and that has become our bonding time. I find that building blocks with both of my boys helps with their fine motor skills and their creativity. It also helps them problem solve and complete a task the way they have it envisioned in their mind. I also make sure that I go over shapes and counting with my youngest when we play too! He is only two, so we are still working on these areas with him.
