Strider Bike Sport helps your kids learn balance

Fallon is in that age where she is really watching what her big sister is doing and wants to do it as well. It’s totally normal, but her big sister is 11 and Falln is only 2. One of the thing that she has been really focusing on is a bike. So I went out searching for something that would be perfect. I came across Strider and thought it would be perfect. I was so happy when they agreed to send me one to review.

The first thing I need to point out is that Strider bikes are not the typical bike. They don’t use pedals. It is designed that way, so that the child learning, can learn balance first. I can remember sitting on my bike and just walking it. This does that, and then gives them the confidence to actually ride it. It is a bit strange to imagine, but trust me, it makes sense when you see it in motion.

Since Fallon is so little, I received the Strider Sport that works for 18 months to 5 years. This way she can use it now, but also can grow with it. I don’t have to worry about buying her a new bike next year (whew).

The bike comes with 2 different seats, so you can pick which is better for you and your child. Also the seats are so adjustable 28-41cm (11-16”), that you don’t need tools (thank God because i’m bad with tools).

Fallon got on the bike right away. She didn’t even want to wait until the seat was adjusted correctly. We let her “ride” around in the living room first since she had no idea what she was doing and falling wouldn’t hurt her at all being on carpet and not far from the ground.

With Mya’s bike, we have to put air in it once in awhile which it totally normal, but with Strider you don’t need to. Their tires are made from EVA polymer (industrial foam),are super light and durable yet offer a smooth ride. which means that they never need air.

In my opinion $119 is a little high for a bike for a 2 year old, BUT since it really will last her a few years I think it’s very affordable and worth the investment. It’s Christmas time and would make for a great gift. It’s cold where I live and full of snow, so I’m letting her play in the house with it until it gets be a little warmer.

  2. I like the red one, and so would my granddaughter! I had never heard of the Strider before. And, while it's a bit pricey, I think that it's ingenious. It would definitely help children to develop a gradual sense of confidence before transitioning to a bike. Plus, it seems safer to me, for developing balance, than other sports toys. And, I think the little ones get to feel more grown up, riding a "bike" like the big kids. Thanks for the review. We Grandma's are always in need of an education, with new products.
