I know I have done other Coffee maker reviews, and my husband laughs at me when I get another machine, BUT… I love coffee! I love how they all are a little different and how they taste different. This makes it that there really is one for everyone, it’s just finding the right one for you. With that all said, I was so excited when my Ninja Coffee Bar arrived. I mean, it has to be good when a native Colombian woman is their spokesperson, right?
I want to start by saying that if you like the old school pot, just press one button and you have black coffee, this may not be for you, and that’s ok. I showed my mom this over facetime and she just kept saying “oh, fancy, fancy”. Ok, got that out of the way…. I have had machines that I can make hot or cold coffee on, but those were only single serve and not larger cups or almost pitchers for multiple. Also, I prefer my iced coffee to be blended so after I made it I just threw it in my ninja blender and it was perfect (yes I really do have one).
There are many parts to the machine and it can be a bit overwhelming if you let it. Take it step by step and you will do great. Remember not every part is needed to make a drink. It was pretty cool that they even include a little frothier. Time to que my mom saying “fancy”.
With the Ninja Coffee Bar, you use your own coffee grounds. So there is no buying special little cups or anything. You can use their filter that is included or if you want you can take it out and just use yours. For theirs after, you just rinse it out and reuse. I never did drink straight black coffee so I added some chocolate syrup to my cup before I turned the brewer on. This way it mixes as it fills the cup.
Do not worry, if you don’t know any fancy recipes, Ninja has you covered. They include a book that has a ton of recipes and you can always find them on their site as well, along with video tutorials. The book is 133 pages of coffee and recipes for treats that go well with coffee.
I can’t wait to make the Cinnamon Dulce Ninjaccino. It has milk, ground cinnamon, dulce de leche… it’s on page 84/85 if you want to skip ahead. The possibilities are endless. What is your favorite flavor?
You can buy the Coffee Bar on their site, or at Kohl’s, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond and more.
One last note… I’d say it’s successful when my now teenage (seriously, don’t know how that happened so fast), daughter loved the coffee and started to make her own. She claimed she didn’t like it before.
