I liked reading that the artist chose to use mediums that were once symbolically important such as silver and bronze. I've seen a lot of online jewelry stores and most are just point and click/add to the cart. This was one of the only ones that had history and religious tidbits included, too. A girlfriend of mine has an important birthday coming up (30!) and I know she's into Celtic jewelry and designs...

I have always admired Celtic jewelry and Celtic inspired items. I am half Irish and it has always been a dream of mine to someday visit Ireland to experience the Irish culture firsthand. I loved visiting Celtic Goddess Jewelry and found so much more there than just Celtic items! I always wondered what the "Ohm" symbol meant or where it came from and today I learned from Celtic Goddess Jewelry website that Aum is a mystical or sacred syllable in the Indian religions. It is placed at the beginning of most Hindu texts as a sacred exclamation to be uttered at the beginning and end of a reading of the Vedas or previously to any prayer or mantra. The Mandukya Upanishad is entirely devoted to the explanation of the syllable.

I love the Harvest Goddess headpiece. I wish I could afford it. I keep telling my husband that if I only had a tiara, I would wear it all the time. He says he doesn't believe me, but I think he would just be embarrassed. Anyway, I like the earrings, too, so here is some silver trivia. From the Celtic Goddess site: Jewelry played an important role in ancient Celtic society. Silver and bronze Jewelry was not only worn for personal adornment, but for social status. And from elsewhere, I learned that silver has been mined in County Tipperary from the 13th century onward.
