It is Christmas time and everyone is all about the rage and the hottest new toy for 2011. That is great and all, but I love toys that allow my child’s imagination to run wild- and I found a terrific store, Goblin Kids, which offer many products that do just that. Goblin Kids offers a huge variety of European wooden toys and educational infant toys , many of which allow the imagination to soar. One of the primary brands at Goblin Kids is Haba toys, which is a brand that most Moms have come to know and trust.


My son received the Bambini Cars from Haba, which I was very thankful for. I have often wondered if my four year old might be slightly delayed with his fine motors skills. He can write his name, though not neatly, and he often struggles to do some of the simplest tasks like zipping up his jacket. The Bambini Cars is awesome for this. It is really a very simply concept…the child just threads the cars in different orders and combinations, while having fun practicing the motor skills. At first I did not know if my son would love this, it seemed almost too simple for enjoyment. This is not the case at all! He actually loves this toy and has spent a large amount of time threading and “making patterns.” I am so glad that he is having fun practicing a skill I had concern about.

We also received Catch Me from Haba which is this cute little game in one very small tin. This is actually the perfect stocking stuffer in my opinion. Much better than the cheap little gimmicky toys you might find in the big name stores. This fun little game is so simple in concept, but my son is THRILLED with it. As we played this game, we received more laughs than with most games we play. Of course, he loves to be the cat and catch all the mice…and watch us scramble.
