My Mom instilled a joy of reading in me, and I love passing that on to me son! For as long as I can remember, I have stayed up many many nights reading in bed, and even though my little man is only four, I hope he too can take joy in reading one day. Right now, we are perfectly content to read together and talk about the books. I was recently contacted to review Matthew’s Monsters by Stephanie Sisler! This super fun book reads like a picture book but is actually an activity book. After a few pages the book gives the child a chance to answer questions about things that were read in previous pages. This allows the child to broaden their reading comprehension in a FUN way. It also asks you to complete pictures by coloring the monsters the colors that were previously mentioned. My little man and I had a blast with this book! It is a very colorful, fun and descriptive book that I know little guy and I will read time and time again.

We also received a shirt from Creative Reading for Kids. It was a lot of fun for my little man to color it, and then wear his art on his shirt. In fact, he is currently wearing his shirt now.

If you have a child that is struggling with reading comprehension I recommend Matthew’s Monters, in fact I would recommend it to any preschool- early elementary student because it is just so fun!
