My son was a terrible sleeper, and would never sleep in his own crib. We spent many nights attempting to transition him to the crib, but it never seemed to work. This time I am bound and determined to have this baby sleep in his or her own bed. This is the reason that I started researching wonderful crib mattresses. It is my belief that a baby is just like us, the more comfortable the sleeping arrangements- the better they rest. In my research I started to hear the name Lullaby Earth which is made by Naturepedic. This name came up more in more as I was looking, and from what I found, everyone is insanely happy with the crib mattresses they carry. 

We were lucky enough to receive the LE14 Super Light Weight 2-Stage model mattress and it is GREAT! It is a VERY lightweight mattress, in fact, it is only 7lbs! I noticed a huge difference in this while setting up the nursery…it makes changing the crib sheet so much easier! It is also waterproof…let’s face it, babies have accidents…so now it is that much easier to clean! You just wipe up messes with simple soap and water- and voila- you are good to go! 

The most AWESOME feature to me is the dual sided firmess. One side is softer for toddlers, when transitioning to a toddler bed….and one side is more firm for sleeping infants. A firmer mattress is recommended for infants from pediatricians and the consumer product safety commission. 

This mattress is also good for the earth because it has a recyclable design!! It is primarily made of two materials that are very recyclable,  so when you are done with this mattress, do something good for the earth and RECYCLE! Core + Cover: 100% food-grade PE  Cushioning: 100% PETE. Another really important aspect for me is this mattress contains NO HARMFUL CHEMICALS! You can know your child is sleeping in the safest nest you can provide, and you can feel good about that! 

Overall, I just love our mattress. I had my five year old lay on it and test it out, and he quickly claimed it was his new bed! After kicking him off and placing it in the crib, I realized it fits very snuggly so there is less of a chance for baby to get any parts stuck. This mattress is very well made, of the best materials. I know that it is going to be absolutely great for our bean, but it is equally as great for the environment!
