In true National Geographic style, this book excites young people about their world and everything in it, so it's no surprise that the 2012 edition landed at #3 on the New York Times best seller list! The 2014 Almanac features fun information, browsable features, and helpful reference on subjects including technology, countries, presidents, animals, weather, funny roadside attractions, outer space, green tips, and natural disasters, just for starters. Chapters include Amazing Animals, Going Green, Geography Rocks, Super Science, Wonders of Nature, Awesome Adventure, Culture Connection, History Happens, and an interactive Fun and Games chapter."
I have an extremely science minded little man. He loves all things science, from dinosaurs and insects to tornadoes and plants. He is also at an age that he cannot easily navigate the computer so he needs real, hard books to educate himself. We just received this book today and we have already read about 4 pages in it. He picked out his favorites and we learned about weather, animal myths, strange insects and of course, dinosaurs!
I am seriously stoked that this came in time for summer break. I have a lost of educational things that we are going to do this summer- and now reading this entire book is on that list. I absolutely LOVE that my little man is so science minded and interested in this rather than comic books or cartoon characters! The NG Kids Almanac is a huge and so incredibly education and FUN to read. It is definitely not boring in the least if you child is the least bit interested in science.
Win It: Two Lucky winners will receive their own copy of the new NG Kids 2014 Almanac. Please use rafflecopter to enter. Contest runs from 6/10-6/14. US ONLY. ARV: $10
