I am a beginner to exercise! A total novice here, I
decided that home DVD’s are a great way to start. I received three
workout DVDs for review, which included Dancing with the Stars: Cardio Dance for Weight
Loss,The Biggest Loser Power Ab Blast, and The Biggest Loser, 30 Day Power
Train.

Dancing with the Stars: Cardio Dance for Weight Loss:
This has to be my favorite video. It is very fun, but also gives you a nice workout. I’ll be honest. I am known for my LACK of dancing skills, so I probably looked like the biggest goof around. However, I truly enjoyed myself.
1. Warm-Up: Learn the signature moves that make up the DVD (7
minutes)
2.
Samba: Boost your heart rate and
blast calories with this rhythmical Brazilian dance routine that works your
abs, thighs and butt (15 minutes)
3.
Salsa: Cuban dance that focuses on a
1-2-3 rhythm to give a full-body workout and a tight tummy (15 minutes)
4.
Swing: Upbeat American dance that
combines the Jitterbug, Lindy Hop and Jive all in one for the ultimate leg
workout (15 minutes)
I will admit it took me quite a few days to work up to Salsa
and Swing. The Warm-Up and Samba were enough of a workout for me to begin with!
I cannot think of a better way to exercise and lose weight- it is FUN and gives
you a nice workout in your air conditioned home.
“Trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince of NBC's The Biggest Loser offer an intense abdominal workout featuring standing ab exercises in addition to core movements meant to be performed from a medicine ball, as well as elements of yoga, planks, and sit ups. ~ Tracie Cooper “
As you know I just had a baby via c-section in January. My abs definitely could use a little toning. This video definitely does that. It has four sections:
1.
Standing Abs (10 Min)
2.
Cardio Abs (15 Min)
3.
All- Out Abs (10 Min)
4.
Yoga Abs (10 Min)
What an Ab workout this is!! I did manage to complete the
entire video the first time with a ton of grunting and groaning, but it was
totally hard, and I will admit I was sore for DAYS!! Whew. Although I have not
used it long enough to see results, I can definitely tell where I will get
results with use, because those muscles are really worked.
This video definitely works. Whew. It was a bit too much for
me to be honest. I am definitely going to have to work up to this one. It is
more of a “work at your own pace” video, and maybe I am trying to do too much
initially. Either way, it definitely will give a GREAT workout!
This video includes:
This video includes:
1.
Warm Up (5 Min)
2.
Metabolic Circuit (15 Min)
3.
Power Training (15 Min)
4.
All About Reps (15 Min)
5.
Cool Down (5 Min)
Even though I only made it to
Power Training, I will tell you it gave me a wonderful workout and definitely
left me winded. Using all three of these videos
along with proper diet, I KNOW I will get to my goal- perhaps even sooner than I
had anticipated! I definitely recommend you checking them out! All videos are available through walmart so check them out!

ReplyDeleteI can definitely say my 'adult' weight gain began when I decided I was too old to go to clubs and dance! If I could do this in my living room with the shades drawn, I'd probably find my grove again!!
ReplyDeleteThese workout videos look great! I'd love to do these in the privacy of my own home and try to lose a few pounds.
ReplyDeleteI've been using Jillian Michaels DVDs and love/hate them. They definitely push me. I'll look at these at our library.
ReplyDeletethanks for the list. it really is about consistency and having it fun so you can be consistent!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I get bored from doing the same workout over and over, so it is good to have several different DVDs to vary your workout each day!
