Did you know that 1 in 8 women will get breast
cancer in her lifetime? That’s a lot of people. For me personally that means a
lot of women I know or myself will be affected.
October is Breast cancer awareness month and P&G
has partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). They not only
help and educate women, they also educate the men in those woman’s lives about
how important it is for early detection.
If there are any men reading this please, please, please share this with
every woman in your lives in hopes that it may save her life.
10 years ago my Mother In Law was diagnosed with the
early stages of breast cancer. She was treated and is a survivor, she is one of
the lucky ones. If found early enough there the 5 year survival rate is 98 percent. Once
you are in your 20’s you should do a self-breast exam each month. Once you
reach the age 40 you should be getting mammograms once a year. If you don’t
know what to do please visit NBCF for more information. Also visitP&Geveryday for an early detection plan.
About P&G’s Contribution to the National

Since 2008, P&G has donated more than $2.1MM to the NBCF to help save lives through early detection awareness and education. More than 80 percent of all donations to the NBCF go to programs that benefit women.
