Pourty Toilet Training Potty Chair and Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer

As mama to a toddler, one of the largest challenges is potty training. I can handle behaviors, I can handle "mineism", but potty training has been quite interesting. Most parents dread it, and very few of us actually look forward to it. Millions of dollars are spent each year by parents who are looking for an easier ways to potty train their little one, they buy books, they hire "potty training masters". It's one of those markets that is just as over-saturated as the "sleep training" market. Regardless, there's many methods which are beneficial to potty train little ones, which I'll write another post about how we have been managing potty learning at a different time.

However, we've found that for us, only two products actually work: A great potty chair, such as the Pourty Potty, and an attachable toilet trainer. Pourty offers both of these, and I totally am in love with the Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer!

About the Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer: There are standard toilet trainer lids, that tend to wiggle and cause a lot of fear in children, and even have the potential to pinch little legs. Not only that, a lot of little kids that have gravitational insecurity,  poor core stability and are sitting on a wobbly potty chair? Lose-Lose-Lose. What's gravitational insecurity? In short- it's a fear of having your feet off of the ground.
Also, really think about it? Can you truly relax on the toilet if you're sitting and your feet aren't safely planted on the ground, placing your body in the best position for toileting? As a short person, I know I sure can't.

This is why I love the Pourty Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer. The Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer is different because it actually allows you to adjust the fit of the seat so it gives a sense of security by not moving when your child gets on. In short- it does NOT move an inch. It gives them a quality base of support to sit on, so they don't have to focus so much on sitting up, holding themselves up and keep from falling in.  This allows for relaxation of the sphincter muscles, allows for them to focus on the task at hand: going potty and completely emptying out. It is super easy to install- all that is required is using the adjustable prongs. It is also just as simple to take off when an adult has to use the restroom (but I won't lie, I've sat on it before when I was in a rush).

What's so fantastic about the Pourty Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer, it fits on SO many different sizes of toilets. See, a few weeks ago, Nugget fell into the potty while at preschool. FELL INTO THE POTTY. Her feet weren't on the ground, the "teeny training" toilet was too large for her, and *splash*, in she went. Needless to say, we had a pretty significant regression in her potty learning, fear of her feet off the ground, fear of sitting on the toilet, and just simply fear of being near, in, on, or around the toilet. She was even afraid to use the little people potty at school and wouldn't even use ours at home.

We had parent-teacher conferences last week and her teacher brought up her recent fear of being on the potty. Well, come to find out the recent regression in her potty learning was because she'd fallen into the potty! I suggested using her little potty chair, but those are not approved per state law. The ever prepared mommy, I had already come with my daughter's Pourty Flexi-Fit Trainer. I showed to lead teacher how the Pourty Flexi-Fit Trainer fits onto the toilet seat. The primary feature I discussed was how it keeps the child in a comfortable position and gives them a better base of support to be able to sit and relax to focus on going potty- and most importantly, keeps them from FALLING IN (again). The second feature? This isn't necessarily something that's of benefit to me (yet), but it is very much of benefit to the preschool. See, the Pourty Flexi-Fit has a splash guard that is high and wide in the front and a full splash guard below; which is beneficial for little boys that are learning how to potty sitting down and haven't quite mastered the down tuck. Come to find out, this has been something that has been quite the problem lately with the little boys in their class.

Well, my love for the Pourty Flexi-Fit has now been conveyed to our daughter's teacher and we've been working together to try to get permission and obtain three for their potty seats for my daughter's classroom.

See below the video on how the Flexi-Fit Toilet Trainer fits onto potty seats and is easily adjusted, removed and replaced:

  2. The general feeling of well-being is great. When I consistently take this supplement, I just generally feel better. No surprise there: I'm getting a ton of vitamins and minerals. We all feel better when we work out consistently; this supplements just add something more to that.

  4. Yes, some diapers are more costly but we love them! I have to admit, I waited until my daughter was a little older to use them, just shy of 2 months. She is almost 3 months now and we have used them for a little over a month. I am so glad we have used them.
