Fallon is getting to the age where books are amazing and she loves to “read”
them and also likes us to read them to her. So when I got the chance to review
a new book from Peter Pauper Press, I of course said yes, as they have such
great children’s books.
Simpon’s Sheep Won’t Go To Sleep is a very cute book written by Bruce
Arant about a farmer that is trying to get his sheep to sleep at night and they
don’t cooperate. So he has to think of a way to help them.
Farmer
Simpson works all day.
He plants his corn, and beans, and hay.
His feet get tired, his nose gets red.
At night, he likes to go to bed.
He plants his corn, and beans, and hay.
His feet get tired, his nose gets red.
At night, he likes to go to bed.
But Simpson's sheep
have other plans -- and sleep is not one of them! They think of every excuse to
stay awake.
They need a drink.
They want a snack.
They have to ''go!'' They like to yack.
They have to ''go!'' They like to yack.
I love the illustrations in this book. They are so cute and actually
keep my 18 month old’s attention which is hard to do these days. She is so all
over the place and has when we call “squirrel” moments. She likes to point at
the sheep. Funny enough her new favorite noise to make is “baa baa”, it’s pretty
funny and cute (at least to us it is)
We had her friend Hadley over for play time and of course had to read the
book to her. She really liked the sheep as well. Who wouldn’t? The story isn’t
too short but it isn’t long either. I really do think that it is the perfect
length for bed time, or even just for story time. This is also a great baby
shower gift idea. Order today from Amazon or Barns & Noble.
Peter Pauper Press knows that a good story time is even better when you
have a blanket to cuddle up with. They are giving one lucky winner Simpson’s
Sheep Won’t Go To Sleep book plus a 50” x 60’ reversible microsherpa blanket. Please
