Etekcity Remote Controlled Programmable Outlets

Being disabled and not able to just get up and turn things off when I want to is a hassle to say the least. I was given the opportunity to try out Etekcity Zap 3LX Remote Controlled Programmable Outlets and it looked to interesting for me to say no to.

I didn’t know this but leaving an appliance in standby can consume 10-50% of the power and can shorten the life of the appliance by 15%. Using the Zap 3LX should definitely help this.

The outlets are ready to go right from the box. All you have to do is plug into the outlet and plug the lamp in and you’re ready to do. It really is that simple.

The remotes that come with them will work for any of the outlets so you don’t need to remember which one is for which a great thing.  The range that this remote has is very impressive. it’s 100 feet and you can go through walls, different rooms etc.  This is great for me since I can’t get up easy and i can turn some of the lamps and such off. Since I started using them, they really have made my life so much easier.

Pricing on these is so much less than I really thought they would be. for 3 outlets and 2 remotes is only $25 on Amazon. You can but more than the 3 pack. I really recommend these if you like the remote option.

Etekcity is giving one lucky winner the 3 pack with 2 remotes and extra batteries. Please use the Giveaway Tools below for your chance to win.

  3. I love that you can use the remotes for any of the outlets. With arthritis I find it hard to turn on some lamps with the twist type switch under the shade. These would be a blessing!

  7. I'm wondering how much electricity it would save to plug those smart devices that suck power 24/7. Also I was recently in casual conversation with a fireman's wife who went on and on about how her husband insisted that even the coffee pot and toaster be unplugged when not in use. I understand why but I'm overwhelmed by how many items we have plugged in. Think of your kitchen ... would you want to replug in the Keureg, the toaster, the can opener, the microwave all the time you use them? While the kitchen is in use morning to night, I certainly can see the convenience of using the remote to turn all of the above off when we leave the house and for the night.

  9. I use a wheelchair and, like you, have trouble reaching outlets and even some lamps to turn them on or off. I used to use a Clapper (remember that?!), but remote controllers would be awesome to try!

  11. I just like that you can use it to turn things on and off remotely. I have several things that I have to literally unplug from the wall and this would put an end to that.
