Doubletree by Hilton

A few weeks ago my friend Anna and I decided we wanted to take a trip to Minneapolis and have a girls weekend. It has been a crazy year for both of us and we needed time to unwind. I was very happy when DoubleTree Suites by Hilton offered to let us stay at their hotel for a night.

I have stayed at Hilton’s before but never a DoubleTree. The one we stayed at in Downtown Minneapolis was easy to find. Parking was another matter. The hotel parking was full so we had to park across the street. Since you can only park there with a certain card, we had to call the hotel to have a staff member let us in. It was a bit of a hassle but we got it done. Check in was a breeze, the staff was very nice and they let us know that they were just getting done making fresh cookies and should be done in a few mins.

We had a little time to kill before we had to leave the hotel, so we went up to our room and got things situated. We were given a room on the top (12th) floor in the Hilton Honors section. I’m not sure how those rooms compare to the regular ones but ours was really nice. When we checked in we were told that there was pop and bottled water in the fridge that we could have (included in the stay and not extra). There was a sofa, desk, and a TV in a sitting area. Then there was the area for the beds, another TV and the bathroom. Plenty of room for 2 people to be comfortable.

I don’t know if our room hadn't been used in a little while or what the case was, but it was a little dusty, and we did find that a soap bar was left. I know things get missed sometimes when cleaning (I do it all the time). It didn’t ruin our stay any and we did have fresh soap to use so all was well.

We picked a perfect time to go back downstairs as they were just putting the cookies out. Who can pass up a fresh right out the the oven warm cookie? They were delicious! I could have had more.

We brought our swimming suites with the intention of swimming, but never got around to doing it. So I can’t tell you about that one. I do wish they had a breakfast included in the stay, but not many hotels do anymore, so I wasn’t surprised.

Overall, We had a great time. I know I slept really well despite it being a bed I’m not used to. The hotel is in a very good location so if you want to walk around downtown you most certainly can. If you are going to be in the Minneapolis area, check out the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton.
