Dyson DC59 Cordless Vacuum

I have 2 cats, 1 huge hairy dog, and kids. As you can imagine it can get pretty messy in my house. We have been through a few vacuums in the past few years, and mainly because of my dog. He sheds so much hair that it gets caught up in the vacuum. I was recently asked to try out Dyson’s new cordless DC59 motorhead vacuum. I have never had a Dyson, and I have heard great things, so I couldn’t say no.

I looked it up online and saw how sleek it was, but I didn’t really realize just how small until I received it. All the vacuums I have used that didn’t have bags, had the barrel on the body. The Dyson, actually has the barrell unit on the top. This makes it so they can have a super sleek long look. Also it makes it great for the attachments. You can easily turn it into a hand held vacuum to help with stairs, couches or what not.

When it’s fully charged, it has about a 24 minute charge time. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but when you think about it. Do you really spend more than that vacuuming at a time? You can easily clean one room, vacuum, then have it charging again for when you are done cleaning the next room. I think it’s a great system.

One thing I wish is that the barrel was a little bigger. With that said, I do understand that it can’t be too big since it sits on the handle. If it were any bigger it would look odd and feel odd while you are using it. I just have to remember to empty it out a little more often, which isn’t really a huge deal at all. To empty it you just place it over the garbage and pull down the lever, then when empty, snap the bottom back up and you are set to go again.

Yes, this is a little bit on the pricey side at $550, but it comes with all the attachments that you need, and what’s even better is that it is cordless. Which means you don’t have to judge how much room you have to vacuum before finding a new plug in. I know I can’t be the only one who has done that. This Dyson also comes with a wall mount in case you want to store it on a wall in the utility closet or wherever. Makes it nice so that it’s not using up floor space.

What’s in the box? Here is a list of what you get with the Dyson DC59 Motorhead Vacuum:

  • Mini motorized tool
  • Combination tool
  • Crevice tool
  • Battery charger
  • Removable wand
  • Docking station
  • Operating manual
  • Quick start guide
  • Product registration card
  • 2 year parts and labor warranty
Overall, I really enjoy this vacuum, and wish I had gotten it a lot sooner. I have learned that paying a little more for a better quality product is worth it. I have burned through 2 vacuums in the last couple years, this would have saved me time and headache.
You can find Dyson vacuums at most big box stores, or buy straight from their website. I’m not one to typically say buy your spouse one for Christmas, but I bet he or she would like this one if you did. Maybe include a note that you will help break the new toy in so it doesn’t look all you want them to do is clean (at least that’s where my mind went when I imagined receiving one as a gift).

  2. WE got an AMAZING vac at Sams for less than $150. It is the Eureka Boss Smart Vac. Works sooooo great with our tons of pet fur. I wish you had asked. We love it! My mom went and got one after seeing how good it worked and so did my in-laws. :)

  3. Since matter has a tendency to occupy space, the juice will flow upward and into your mouth so long as you continue to suck. MarkWill

  5. Like the Dyson DC59 dual cyclone head canister vacuum. That’ll suck more than the dust out of your carpet. It’ll also suck your wallet clean too.
