kidsafe Essential Oils

I have been into essential oils for awhile now. I still consider myself a newbie to it, but am learning more and more everyday. Recently Plant Therapy asked that I check out their line for kids called Kid Safe. I have 2 children who i use my regular oils on all the time, so yes I definitely wanted to try these out.

The Kid Safe line has 20 different blends to help kids ranging from calming, focus, pain, tummy aches and more. I chose the top 5 I thought would be the best for my children. I love that each of the blends you can get different size vials from 10ml to 100ml  and even roll ons.

Please remember to use a carrier oil with the essential oils before you put them on your children’s skin. This will help dilute and help from any burning that may occur.

My girls aren’t any different than other girls that like to play hard. They get cuts and scrapes just like all, or when the little one is not being nice with the cats and gets scratched. Having Better Than Kisses available is great. I always keep a small container of coconut oil in my bag just in case. That way I can use with any oil I need.

“Specifically formulated for children ages 2-10. This synergy contains 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of Lavender,Marjoram, Cypress, Tea Tree and Tansy (Blue).” I have been using Tea Tree oil for years and know how awesome it is at healing. Using this blend of oils it helps kill any possible bacteria that the cut/scrape may have. Fallon fell and scraped her knee. I put some of the Better Than Kisses on a few times when changing the “much needed” bandaid, and within a few applications it was gone with no scar.

Mya is a lot like me and gets headaches a lot, so we needed to find something to help her that didn’t involve a ton of medications. I have used blends of Lavender and Peppermint with her before and it seemed to help. Even though this bend from Planet Therapy is meant for kids 2-10 and she is 11, I still wanted to try it. What was it going to hurt right? I’m glad I did because it really seemed to calm her and helped her head. I have her take it to school with her in a small container already mixed with coconut oil.

Specifically formulated for children ages 2-10. This synergy contains 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of Lavender,Palmarosa, Geranium Bourbon, Lemon and Chamomile Roman. I love the way it smells, i think it’s probably the mix of the Lavender and Chamomile. This is definitely one that I want to get a roll on to make it easier for her to apply while away from home. (the roll ons are already diluted).

I have been using a night blend with Mya for awhile now because she was getting night terrors and I needed something to help her. She recently started a new day care and with the anxiety of a new place, she wasn’t taking naps. This wasn’t fun for the sitter nor was it fun for us once she got home and was really tired. It finally dawned on me that I hadn’t sent any oils with her for nap time.

I now have some Nighty Night oil at the sitter with coconut oil. She puts it on the bottom of Fallon’s feet right before nap time. The first time she used it on her it worked fantastic and Fallon took a much needed 2 hour nap. Lessoned learned to not forget that again. You can also use Nighty Night in a bath with Epsom salt or even use it with a diffuser at bedtime.

“Specifically formulated for children ages 2-10. This synergy contains 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of Lavender,Marjoram, Mandarin, Cedarwood Atlas, Patchouli, Clary Sage, Chamomile Roman and Tansy (Blue).” I definitely recommend this blend for any parent that has a child that needs help falling asleep.

Kids get colds all the time, so I knew this would be a must need for me and my 2. For the Sniffle Stopper I decided to use a diffuser in Fallon’s bedroom at night on the onset of her getting a cold. Then a few times a day I would apply some oil with coconut oil to her chest and a little bit under her nose. I have noticed that since I have been doing this, it really makes a difference on how bad her cold gets and how long it lasts.
“Specifically formulated for children ages 2-10. This synergy contains 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of Fir Needle,Rosalina, Spruce, Cypress, Spearmint and Cedarwood Virginian.”

Of my two children, Mya unfortunately got my gene of a really touchy stomach. She has problems all the time, and I feel so bad for her. I choose Tummy All Better as my 5th choice because I wanted something natural that would help her. I keep some with me at all times just incase she needs to just inhale a little bit to help nausea. I have tried that part for myself, but it didn’t help. It does smell good, so that helps.

When she’s not feeling well, I use a carrier oil to dilute and put a little on her stomach. If your child wakes up in the middle of the night, you can rub some on the bottom of the feet just like with the Nighty Night blend. I loved that I learned about the bottom of the feet trick, because it is awesome.
“Specifically formulated for children ages 2-10. This synergy contains 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of Petitgrain, Dill,Chamomile Roman, Spearmint and Ginger.”

Some oils can have a very strong smell so it can take a few times using them before you get used to it. This is especially the case if you have never used oils before. I really recommend checking them out and trying some with your little ones.
