9 Fantastic Gluten Free Foods

I have eaten Gluten Free foods in the past, especially for review on here. I am lucky and don’t have to eat only GF foods. A few of my friends that can not have gluten at all or they get sick. They inspired me to do a roundup of some awesome gluten free foods.

Pure Organic has a bar for just about anyone. They are Organic, NON-GMO, Gluten Free and also Vegan. Not only are they super healthy but they also have 3-5 grams of fiber and 5-7 grams of protein, making them a great snack especially for on the go. Even though I love chocolate, I think my favorite bar that I tried was their cherry cashew. I’m not a huge cashew fan but I love cherries. The mix between the two are so good. I kind of wish a had a few more of them.

Not only does Pure Organic make Fruit & Nut Bars, but also Fruit & Veggie Strips along with Ancient Grain Bars. They are very reasonably priced at $2.19 a bar and $21.99 for a 12 pack.

Just because someone can’t have gluten, doesn’t mean they can’t have desserts. U-Be-Livin-Smart made sure of that with their Karmuffin.  They sent me some of each of their muffins. I have to tell you, those are some really good muffins. I usually like mine warmed up a little with some butter, but no need for butter with these. I didn’t even notice all the healthiness around me.  The muffins are gluten free, peanut free, no sugar, no flour They definitely went above and beyond to make sure only the best ingredients are in the muffins. The taste proves it too.

If you are looking for healthy candy (yes, there is such a thing) you can try their pocket treats.  They really do taste good too. Everyone wants a treat now and then, and this is the way to do it without getting all that sugar.

What's in our Pocket? Every serving of 4 yummy chewz fills you with:
  • 8g protein
  • 1 serving of Superfrutis
  • 2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil

I’m not a huge mayo fan unless it’s with eggs or in a potato salad, but the rest of my family loves mayo. So when Hampton Creek asked if I wanted to try some of theirs, I definitely wanted to. You may think that mayo is just mayo, but not the way they do it. when you add some sriracha, or chipotle, it takes on a whole new flavor. I said before that i’m not really a mayo fan, but they way Hampton creek does it, I really like. We added some of the chipotle to our deviled eggs and it made it so much better. I don’t think I can go back to regular deviled eggs now. I also don’t feel guilty having some since it’s better for you than the regular Mayo and Just Mayo is Non-GMO.

Can we talk cookies for a minute? Hampton creek sent me a tub of their frozen cookie dough. I was a little sad it was frozen as I wanted to make some right away, but had to wait just a few hours for it to unthaw. I did forgive them though when I finally tasted the cookie. It was so worth the wait. Their cookies are all natural, dairy free, cholesterol free, allergy friendly and oh so good. I really couldn’t tell the difference in eating Just Cookie Dough to eating a store bought dough and baking it.

Earlier this year I was introduced to SOYJOY and loved it. I was really happy when they asked me to try out a larger portion of their products and new flavors. How could I say no to that? SOYJOY uses real fruit  and whole soy when they are making their snacks. Nothing artificial goes into it at all and what’s even better is that it’s gluten free. They have 7 flavors: Dark Chocolate Cherry, Cranberry, Banana, Berry, Blueberry, Mango coconut and Strawberry. For me my favorite was a mix between the cranberry and the dark chocolate cherry.

There are health benefits for both men and women when it comes to whole soy, check it out if you are interested. They have a lot of information on their site. SOYJOY also has recipes for you including one for a Apple Soy Chai Latte that sounds really good.

Mya was a little upset when she saw the Popcorn Indiana come in and most of it had chocolate on it . Yes I did plan it that way, but only because she has plenty of popcorn for herself. Anyway,  it’s really hard to believe that this is actually pretty good for you. It only has 120 calories per serving for the Dark Fudge Sea Salt. Since it’s in this roundup, that also means that it is gluten free! I think it’s great that they use Non-GMO canola or sunflower oils as well. Makes it a lot better for us when eating. Every little bit helps. Please do note that Popcorn Indiana does use a facility that uses milk, soy, peanuts and tree nuts. Just incase you are allergic to any of those.

If you are looking for a more classic popcorn, they do have that as well in addition to other options. For me The Chocolate Peanut Buttter was the best. I could eat a few bags of those. This would make for a great  present if you are doing a gift basket for Christmas or anytime of year.

My youngest absolutely loves Taste of Nature bars. I do have to be careful since they have some bigger nuts in them, but she does really well. Both myself and Fallon love the Quebec Cranberry as it has 5 grams of protein, and only 11 grams of sugar. The good part about the sugar is it is not from corn syrup so it is all natural.

Here is the list of ingredients: Peanuts, raisins, agave nectar, sesame seeds, almonds, cranberries(cranberries, apple juice concentrate, sunflower oil), pumpkin seeds, brown rice syrup, whole grain brown rice crisps, sunflower oil blend (sunflower oil, mixed tocopherols, rosemary extract), cranberry flavour, agar.

As you can see, they use fantastic nuts, and fruit. Taste of Nature uses 100% Organic, Gluten Free, Certified Kosher, Certified Vegan, Low Sodium, Source of fibre, Source of Energy, Non GMO in their bars, so you know you are getting top quality. I do want to point out that if you throw one of the the bars in your purse, be prepared to have it possible smooshed easily. Not a huge deal if you are prepared. I wasn’t once but it still tasted the same, so who really cares.

I LOVE pasta, there is no way around it. I would hate if I couldn't eat it anymore. I’m so glad that there is a really good option for people to get a gluten free pasta like this. I was sent both the Five Cheese and the Butternut Squash. Of the 2, my favorite was the five cheese. One of the pockets did open a little while cooking so we lost a little cheese during the process. It’s all good though, because I made up for it in the end. I love a lot of sauce when I eat pasta and to top it off some shredded goat cheese is my favorite. Please be prepared for large pasta raviolis and not small ones. So you really don’t need a lot to fill you up. I ended up covering it with a 4 cheese pasta sauce, and it just so happens that my favorite brand is also gluten free, so that works out fantastic.

It only takes a few minutes to cook once the water is boiling so watch it carefully. It’s not like regular that takes 8 or so minutes. I’m talking about 3 minutes at a boil and they are done.  Each serving which is one cup has 11 grams of protein in it. That’s a lot for a ravioli. It was so good that I didn’t really want to share. My kids loved it. My husband didn’t even try because he is not a big pasta lover (gasp) so more for us. I will definitely will be buying more of these packages. They are worth every penny.

If you want to try out the SOYJOY bars, we are doing a giveaway of 2 boxes of the Dark Chocolate Cherry bars. Definitely worth entering.
