WallyKazam!

If you have a toddler and cable, then I have no doubt that you already know who Wallykazam is!! This fun show is of big interests to my son and also the kids I work with at a pediatric daycare for medically fragile kids! They all get thrilled when they get to watch a new episode.

This DVD that was just released at the end of April features four of the favorite WallyKazam episodes which makes my two year old so happy:
  •  Naptime for Borgelord
  • Castle Caper
  • Victor The Villain
  • The Switching Stone
The series follows the adventures of Wally and his pet dragon, Norville, who live in a forest among giants, goblins and other fantastical creatures. Wally has a magic stick that makes words come to life on the screen playfully transforming the world around him. Wallykazam! is Nickelodeon’s first preschool series that embeds a literacy curriculum into a full-length story, introducing skills such as letter and sound identification, rhyming, vocabulary development and comprehension strategies. Each of the four adventures features a new set of words and the DVD contains a free gift with purchase of customizable Wallykazam! name labels while supplies last. Created by Nickelodeon and distributed by Paramount Home Media Distribution, Wallykazam! will be available on DVD on April 28, 2015 for the suggested retail price of $14.99.
This DVD is now a favorite of my little man, and it is his favorite way to pass the time while we are driving to and from the school to pick up his older brother. I love that the show is educational and helps with sound identification and vocabulary development, which makes this show perfect for my blossoming toddler! He is not talking a lot yet, but is starting to put more 4-5 word sentences together, and I feel WallyKazam! is a positive influence on his language developement. Its a win-win! Baby loves it, Mommy get a break, and it is educational!! It is available for less than $10 on amazon.

  1. My little nephew absolutely adores WallyKazam! It's his favorite show and like you, we are so glad because it teaches children while they are having fun too! Letter and sound identification, rhyming, vocabulary development and comprehension strategies, all of the skills you pointed out have had an impact on my nephew, especially since it took him longer to start talking! Once he did though...look out! *LOL* I'm sure we will add this DVD to his collection!
