Children's Miracle Network Pampers and Walmart $25 Gift Card Giveaway!

While my son was only in the NICU for 8 short days when he was born back in 2007 at a Children's Miracle Network hospital, that time touched my heart and later helped me in my decision to become a pediatric nurse and work with special needs and preemie children. I have truly found my passion and have worked with my "work babies" for over five years now. Almost every one of the babies that I work with were born at the same Children's Miracle Network hospital my older son was born at. While I do not work at the hospital, I do take care of the children after they are released from the hospital and I have seen the TRUE miracles that take place all of the time at this hospital.
Visiting Our Son Who Was Born with Pneumonia in the NICU and Now, Almost Eight Years Later!

I hear stories everyday that take my breath away such as the Story of Katie (not a patient of mine but a patient from Children's Miracle Network in Florida):

OSTEOGENIC OSTEOSARCOMA

Two years before her diagnosis with bone cancer, Katie hung a quote she’d written: “What great thing does it do to the world when we help ourselves instead of others?” Years later, Katie would prove her dedication to uplifting others.
Looking at her, you’d never know Katie is one of a few patients in the world to have a radical limb salvage surgery ending with a prosthetic inside her leg. Nobody wishes for a life-threatening illness, but Katie says cancer was a blessing that inspired her to help others.
Now cancer-free, Katie has organized her own nonprofit to provide monogrammed blankets, chemotherapy distraction toys and services for kids who lose their hair. She also started a “September is Golden” initiative during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to fundraise at local schools. Katie’s ability to articulate her journey, paired with countless media interviews and speaking opportunities, has motivated many to help kids in need.

I am passionate about this organization because of the wonderful things they do for children and families in their greatest time of need. By supporting the Children's Miracle Network you are helping provide 32 million patient visits for 10 million kids each year! Some facts you may not know are:
  • One in Ten Kids (like my own son) in North America Use a Children's Miracle Network Hospital Yearly.
  • Every Year Member Hospitals Treat 16,000 Children in Their ERs.
  • Every Hour, Member Hospitals Provide Surgery to 97 Children!
  • U.S. Member Hospitals Provided $3.4 Billion in Charity Care in 2012.
Children's Miracle Network would not be possible without donations from generous people and cooperation. THIS MONTH, Walmart and Pampers are working together to donate $200,000!! You can learn more about this awesome program at Walmart.com!

  23. My cousins baby boy was really sick when he was born and they didn't expect him to live through the night. They told my cousin she should say her goodbyes before he is transferred to a Childrens Hospital. My aunt called everyone and we all prayed for him. He survived the night but was in the hospital for about 3 wks. It was so scary. Now he is a healthy 12 yr old who plays every sport you can think of. He is the miracle baby. Children's Hospital is so important with all the special equipment and doctors they have to save babies lives.I'm so thankful for this hospital and for what it stands for. Thank you for the chance :)

  28. It hasn't personally touched me; however, a young boy in our community was diagnosed with leukemia a few years ago. He was 5 years old. Just recently the community had a big celebration party for him, to celebrate 1 year since his last treatment. He is doing great now and is thriving at home and school. He was treated at a Childrens Miracle Network Hospital (Blair E Batson Childrens Hospital) and all his family talks about how wonderful the hospital was. I only live about an hour from there and know many children who have been treated for various things. I think its a wonderful place that does a very difficult job with amazing skill and smiles.
