ReplyDeleteWe have only had our dog for 3 months. He was a rescue dog. His ribs were broke, he was malnourished, and his jaw was broke My husband and I have never really owned a pet, so this is a learning experience. In the time we have had; Benji, he has gained 3 pounds, ribs mended, jaw not broke anymore (but his lower jaw will always stick out a little). Spoiled, he won't sleep in his doggy bed has to sleep with my husband and I. He sees the garage door go open, and he runs to the door, beause he knows it is time for daddy to be home. He has a favorite toy named wormy. He tore it up and cried, my husband made me sew it up. I went back to the store and bought him two more identical wormy's. He plays with all 3, my husband will not let me throw the torn up one, I sewed, away. We give him a choice of which one he wants and he always drags "Wormy 1" out.
ReplyDeleteDuring training sessions I reward my golden retriever with healthy treats. He's a fast learner with a good treat.
