Collect Bonus Box Tops and Help Your School in a Big Way!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of General Mills®. The opinions and text are all mine.

We live in an extremely rural and poor community. This means that it effects our schools in a negative ways. I know the teachers try as hard as they can to provide each student with as much as they can, but the school is often missing materials that it needs to properly educate the children. I try to help in every way that I can including fundraisers, donations and BOX TOPS!

Our family has been collecting box tops and turning into our child's teachers since he started kindergarten three years ago. Each and every box top donates $.10 to the school. If every parent took the few seconds it takes to rip a box top off, then the teachers could have more funds for things they need in the classroom! I can tell you every teacher that my son has had has been extremely pleased to receive the box tops! Box Tops is one of the largest school earnings loyalty earnings program with over 80,000 k-8 grade schools participating and have $525 million dollars to participating schools since 1996!

I just made my families usual grocery shopping trip at Walmart and tried to note just how many products I purchased that had Box Tops, and I honestly lost count. I did take note of the Bonus Box Top items that I purchased which counts as FIVE box tops on the one package! That is $.50 towards our school, and since I purchased four items, I just contributed $2. I know for many teachers, $2 can buy a pack or much needed flash cards, or a new book to read to the class. By purchasing items that I already needed, I was able to give back to my sons new teacher this year.

I teach my boys everyday how important it is to give back and show appreciation for the things in their life. I love that I can teach them that by taking a few seconds out of their day, they can give back and show appreciation for all that their teachers do for them!

  3. I've been collecting box tops for as long as I can remember. I can't stand it when I see and hear people say they don't collect them. I've even got our neighbors saving them for us. We give them to our kids to take to school. The school hold little competitions between classes, to see whom brings in the most each month. The winner get s a class pizza party.

  5. Box Tops make a huge difference for small town schools! Parents have to help out a lot, buying their kids extra items for school all the time and then when students are selling to raise money, it's usually the parents and relatives that buy the most. I learned a long time ago that Box Tops can add up and really help. We have drop off containers in stores in my home town and there are always Box Tops dropped in! Thanks for the post to boost awareness, because our kids deserve all the help we can give them!! :)
