Weight has always been a struggle for me. Well at least for as long as I can remember. Weight affects so much of our self esteem and how we live our lives, or at least it does for me. This past Monday Oct 5th, I started back with Nutrisystem. I am blessed to be apart of their #NSNation blogger program for the next three months. During this time I will be sharing the good, the bad, and scary enough, the ugly part of weight loss. I know I won’t be perfect, but I will do my best.
The good part of Nutrisystem is that it doesn’t restrict my sodium a ton. I can’t restrict it because of POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome). Lowering the calories is great, just not the sodium, so Nutrisystem may be the perfect way for me to jump start everything.
Week 1 consisted of the Fast 5. The Fast 5 is kind of like a boot camp and a way to really kick start your body and mind into weight loss. If you do it right, it can also help you lose up to 5 pounds the first week (hence the name).
To help keep you on track it helps if you write down your food as you go, NOT at the end of the day. For me it help anyway. It keeps me accountable. You can download the app NuMi to help. You can even just scan the barcode and it will add it for you.
So here is the good, the bad and the ugly (yikes). I tried to be really good, and I was for the most part. There was a few meals here and there were, well I just wasn’t. I let my addiction to food get to me. I did lose 3 pounds so there is that!!! yay!
My goal for this next week is to be better than was was this past week. That’s all we can really do right?
Here is my before pic (please be nice as I hate it, i mean HATE it). A year ago I weighed about 60 pounds lighter. from the stress of so many surgeries in the last year and the meds for POTS it has taken it's toll on my body. I hope I can get back there someday. I know it will take more than 3 months, but this should help!

ReplyDeleteI know Nutrisystem has been around for years and has undergone several changes for the better. I have never tried it but would like to lose about 20 pounds. I would get the Nutrisystem D since I'm a diabetic.
