Man yall, my princess found her voice this week. Problem is, her 6 month old voice is this screeching scream when she is mad! She is such a happy girl...as long as she is being held. The second you put her down- wow!!! Watch out. It is the kind of scream that gives me and instant headache and has my three and eight year old running for cover (I am not even kidding!!) Add on top of that two birds, two dogs, a cat and a 8 year old with ADHD, and my house is extremely chaotic and loud. I am also in school full time, and some day I would like to put my head under the covers and hide. While I would not trade this crazy, loud, hectic life of mine for any other life in the world, it does get hard. Mommies, you are not alone! No matter how perfect your friends look on their perfectly filtered and staged facebook or instagram, girl, know that is not reality. Reality is snotty noses, screaming babies and poopie diapers. Reality is yoga pants and acne scars. Reality is stretch marks, wild youngins and cartoons 24/7. Reality is sick babies, hamburger helper and a mommy feeling like she has failed. Sick just got real.™, Mommies! Win It: This video is perfect! It shows what life is like. It's real...just like me and you! To make your reality a teensy bit better Pfizer is giving one awesome TNM reader a $25 gift card.

My moment is when both my son and I got the stomach bug twice within a span of two months. My son was throwing up everyday, including the dog. We would take turns going to the bathroom.
The worst is when my son and daughter got sick at the same time! Both were throwing up and had fevers. It took a lot out of me and I did everything I could to make them well again!
My realist mommy moment was when I was driving my daughter back home from tennis practice and she started to vomit. I pulled over to help her and then ended up vomiting, too. We both came down with the stomach bug at the same time. Somehow I made it home while throwing up in a grocery bag. It was awful!
My realist moment was when my 2 year old was recently sick with a stomach bug. He wanted me to carry him so I figured it was okay because he had gone a while without getting sick. Two seconds later he threw up all over me and when I tried to move him away from me, he threw up all over the floor too.
My realistic "mommy moment" was when my 4 year old daughter told my students that she had thrown up purple. I was getting my classroom ready for a substitute for myself and had to take my daughter to work for a bit. Her vomit was purple due to the grape flavored medicine that I had given to her for her fever.
When everybody gets sick at once! I have a weak stomach and if something else gets physically sick in anyway or there is anything gross, I just can't handle it! addictedtorodeo at gmail dot com Ashley C
I don't have my own kids, but teaching I have some stories. One day I had a throw up, bloody nose, pee in the pants and an observation all in the same 30 minutes.
My realist mommy moment is when I was driving our son to the doctor, when he started throwing up in the backseat with his little sister! It was pretty chaotic, especially since I was driving!
I was pregnant with my 3rd child. Both my older children age 3 & 5 got chickenpox. They had high fevers and nightmares . They slept on both sides of me and their breath was awful when I had such morning sickness and the poor little guys had such bad scabs. This was before the chickenpox vaccine was made. Just a few months ago my son caught a nasty stomach bug and we spend all night up and down taking turns taking him to the bathroom to projectile vomit while the other changed the bedding! I hope we never have another night like that because it sucked.
My realist moment is getting worried when my stockpile of tissues runs low. We go through a ton when we are sick and it is hard to get out of the house to buy tissues once this happens. - See more at:
My realist moment was when I was sick the same time my 1 and 3 year old got sick at the same time. I would not wish that on anyone. It was the he worst sickness I ever had I'm the type that when I'm sick I want to be left alone and crawl into bed until I feel better. I had 2 kids having stuff coming out both ends and of course when they are that little they rarely make it the toilet. So I was cleaning and crying at the same time.
My younger daughter had a severe bronchitis when she was just a few months old, and I spent several nights sleeping on the floor beside her crib--this was before monitors and my room was just far enough away that I wanted to be really certain that I could hear any changes in her breathing. Of course, the amount of sleep I got was rather limited!
This past winter was very hard as we had a lot of sickness in our home plus a new baby. I tried to make sure my older kids washed their hands every time they came in from outside and school. I always enjoy watching movies during stressful times because of sickness.
I would have to say mine was the first time he had croup! Sounded so horrible...was middle of winter...we drove him so fast to ER...by the time we got there...he sounds so much better. The doctor said the cold air helps it...so next time just to take him outside or run a warm shower and the steam will help too.
A realist mommy moment is when you realize you cannot take all the suffering away from your child and just try to comfort them the best you can with good medicines and love.
A realist mommy moment is when everybody in the house gets sick but in turns, not all at the same time and it seems forever before we are doing good again.
A realist moment is when you're snuggling with your sick kid and they look at you and you lock eyes knowing that in the next two seconds you'll be covered in puke and will have to deal with the mess while comforting a terrified and sick toddler.
When we were driving to visit my in laws and my 6 year old got sick in the car. The only thing we had was my purse, so I dumped it out real quick and she threw up in that. I loved that purse, lol I threw it out of course.

My realist moment was when mommy and daddy are both extremely sick and the kids are fine.we take turns taking care of them because we both are so sick to even move
I remember my little man being very sick. Mommy getting all ready for work, and getting ready to take him to Grandma's as he couldn't go to daycare. I was cuddling with him on the couch trying to make him feel better, when he threw up all over me. I am one of those people who doesn't do well with vomit, so had to hold mine in while I cleaned him up and went to change and start over..
