Upgrading...upgrading is a word that brings a lot of excitement, but in many cases a lot of work to go with it. I remember my orientation for nursing school, I looked around and was at awe at all the smart people in the room because if how hard nursing school was to get into. It never occurred to me that I was there, so I was just as smart as them. After two and a half years in the program, it was so awesome upgrading my title from phlebotomist to R.N. How exciting and life changing that was!! Man, I was high on life for a while after that when I went to work in my new scrubs with that titled on my badge. It was years of hard work to get there but in the end it was all so worth it!
Sometimes it is easy to get stuck in a rut and stay in a job your are unhappy with, or you just go to the same vacation site you always go because it is what it is easiest..but sometimes we need to jump out of our comfort area and just take the plunge for true happiness and unique experiences in life. I know another time for me was going on a European vacation with my then boyfriend. He invited me to go to Spain with his family, and that was a huge step for me. I had been a small town girl up until that point, and had never traveled internationally before. That time stepping outside of my comfort area had a lasting impact on my life, and I came home and engaged woman. Now, 12 years later we are happily married with three great kids, so agreeing to go on that vacation was one of the best decisions of my life! Looking back, the times I was most uncomfortable with a task or a trip, had the most rewards in the end.
