Makeup! I don’t know many women that don’t like makeup. I personally love it. It’s a way to express yourself, enhance your look and well, just be fun. Motives Cosmetic is a brand that I just recently tried and already love. My daughter almost started drooling when she saw all the lip glosses (she’s 13 and loves colors).
Out of the 3 different styles, I think my favorite is Motives Lip Candies. These are perfect for the everyday look as they are sheer with a little shimmer with the shade. They are also infused with a little spearmint. You can’t really smell it, but if you lick your lips you get a little hint of it. Personally, I love this (helps the breath a little too). Lip Candies comes in 8 different shades: Butterscotch, Candy Bar, Cotton Candy, Jawbreaker, Lollipop, Milk Chocolate, Rock Randy and Tart. Ironically (ok not really if you knew me), but my favorite shade is candy bar. Mya’s favorite right now is tart, but that changes from day to day.
Motives Maven Mattes to me is the cross between a regular lipstick and a gloss. When you apply it, it’s a liquid, but dries super fast and still leaves your lips smooth. I was afraid that the matte was going to leave my lips dry feeling, but they don’t. Whenever I get a new color, I always try it out at home first (just in case). I tried the shade Scandalous and sent a pic to a friend asking what she thought as I never think I look good in red, she loved it. I had to leave and run some errands and as stopped by a few people asking what shade it was and what brand. I’d say this means I need to wear it more often. Maven Mattes has 9 different shades to choose from, so almost everyone can find the perfect one for them: Reveal Me, She’s A Doll, Daddy’s Girl, Rust ‘n’ Roll, Scandalous, Sorry Not Sorry, Mocktail, Try Me.
The third style Motives has is called All Day Liquid Mattes. There are 4 shades to choose from and all 4 are very bold. Much like the Maven Mattes, they dry quick and will last all day (hence the name). I know I like to shake things up sometimes and just be bold especially if I’m going to a fun event like a concert or a party. These are perfect, and Dragon Fruit is my favorite of the 4: Concord, Blackberry, Dragon Fruit and Guava.
The last makeup product I tried from Motives is their Shimmer Powder. Everyone is a little different in their style. For me, I love this right on my cheek bones. It’s not over powering like some powders, so you can add it to your normal makeup routine. I’m usually very pale so Starshine was perfect for me. They have 4 shades to choose from depending on your skin tone and preferences: Diamond, Starshine, Goddess, and Bombshell. I think the price point of $24 is perfect. You don’t use very much so it lasts a long time and has great coverage.
Motives Cosmetics has more than just the powder and lip colors. They have pretty much any makeup product you need from face, eyes, nails and of course cosmetic accessories.
