Have The Stork OTC Help you Conceive

This is a sponsored conversation from Mums the Word Network and The Stork OTC. All opinions are my own.
We all know how we can get pregnant right? You know, when a mommy and a daddy love each other, they hug real tight, and then 9 months later a baby is born. Ok, well maybe that’s not exactly how it happens, but that’s what I tell my 4-year-old. For some of us, it can happen that easy, for others not so much.

For some of us it can take years. I got pregnant with my first child a little too easily, considering I had just turned 18 a month prior. Things weren’t that easy the next time. My husband and I wanted another child. My oldest, is not his biological child and he really wanted one of his own. We tried for a few years after we were married but nothing was happening. Month after month we were disappointed. Then came the day we found out we were expecting. Within 24 hours however, our world was turned upside down, when that great news turned into devastating news that I was losing the baby. We didn’t think we could even have another child (tests showed my husband had a low count), then it was taken away from us. I couldn’t understand.

I told myself that we were done “trying”, if was going to happen it would. I’m happy to say that only three months later, I found out I was pregnant with Fallon who is now 4 years old. I had finally had a “sticky” baby (term used for baby that implanted). It didn’t take long to pass the time that I had lost the last one, but I still couldn’t breathe a sigh of relief. My pregnancy with Fallon was not easy. I was in and out of the hospital the entire time. Had a feeding tube, PICC line for TPN & lipids, went septic. Then had a bleeding ulcer. Even though I was close to death more than a few times, I still knew there was an end in sight and I just had to make it until she was born. After she was born, and with the encouragement from my medical team, we decided that two healthy children would be it for me. Some people need more than 2 children, but for me that is enough and felt very blessed.

While I was pregnant, and after, I had the opportunity to help others like myself through their pregnancies. In addition to that I also helped give advice those who were having difficulty getting pregnant. With blogging, I have the great chance to get my voice out there and help even more people. With the new year being here, I have seen so many resolutions to get pregnant by the end of the year. I want to help make that happen.

One of the biggest things, is to know when you ovulate. Using First Response Ovulation test strips will help you. Once you know when, then it’s go time. The Stork OTC is what you want to use once you know you are ovulating. I honestly wish I had this a few years ago, as It would have made things way easier. It’s an over the counter device that uses a cervical cap.

This technique allows the sperm to bypass the vaginal tract and gets them up as close to the opening of the cervix as possible. In other words, it does the hard part for the sperm. “A recently published clinical study demonstrated that in 85% of subjects, The Stork OTC delivered 3.23 times the sperm score value within cervical mucus compared to natural intercourse.”

According to The Stork OTC, this is how the device works: “The Stork® OTC includes two familiar elements: a cervical cap inside of a condom-like sheath (the Conceptacle®) used to collect the sperm and an applicator device (the applicator) used to place the cap (similar to the delivery of a tampon).

After collecting the semen in the cap, the applicator efficiently and easily places it near the woman’s cervix. The cap stays in place, keeping the sperm where it needs to be, for up to six hours, while the woman continues her normal routine, then is easily removed with the attached cord, similar to tampon removal.”

Since finding out about The Stork OTC, I have told a few friends, and plan on telling even more. I know first hand how hard it can be to start or continue your family. Right now, you can find The Stork OTC at CVS and even Walgreens.
